Synopsis wrote:The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is an action-adventure game for the Wii console. It is currently in development by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development, and is scheduled for a release in Europe on November 18, 2011. A prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the game will make use of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral for sword-fighting, with a revised Wii Remote pointing system used for targeting. The game will be sold as both a bundle with a golden Wii Remote Plus and as a standalone game, and will include a CD containing orchestrated tracks of iconic music from the franchise. This game will be the first Zelda installment to be exclusively available for the Wii, as its predecessor Twilight Princess was available for both the Wii and the Nintendo GameCube.

Available as a standalone game, or as a special edition (£50) with a soundtrack CD and Gold Wiimote+

Half between Wind waker cel shading and TP's look, Hell yes!

Apparently, their showing of this game didn't control properly due to wireless interference also.

Visually uninspiring (though perhaps that's a little unfair considering the quality of the youtube video). A lot is riding on the quality of the motion control.

Hmm, looks good. Graphics need to be more like Wind Waker though.

TP seemed to survive the 'new Nintendo' (though wasn't as good as WW). Hopefully this will too.

Doesn't match the Twilight Princess announcement for pure "OMG FANBOYNESS" from the crowd :(

I'd be interested in this if it wasn't a Wii game.

I doubt there'll ever be another 'proper' Zelda game I can actually play, or another Nintendo console I can use for that matter.

Looks nice but not amazing, Twilight Princess had much nicer graphics. Be interested to see what the hands on previews say though, I quite enjoyed playing TP on Wii.

On the nintendo Q and A round table they have said the game is influenced by Wii sports resort.

If you watch the trailer then it's pretty obvious what they mean by that. Looks like a lot of the mechanics form Resort are the same as in this e.g. controlling that flying beetle = flying over the island in the plane.

I must be the only person to actually love the new graphic style ! It reminds me of the old 2d games somehow.

I think it looks great, lots of people were calling for another cel-shaded Zelda game and I welcome the return to that graphical style. Also the new controls will hopefully add something to the franchise, something that has been needed for a while, some new gameplay experiences. :)

Stills of this look excellent - I think some on here were far, far too quick to judge the art style on that trailer alone.

There's a walkthrough on Kotaku that dispels some of the control issues http://kotaku.com/5564197/the-legend-of ... tarring-me

Half WW half TP first impression is that the look doesn't really sit right, but at the same time it also has this sort of weird ethereal quality that I can't quite put my finger on.

The enemies blocking looks to be taken straight from Sports Resort but also seems like it will be great fun.

Miyamoto talking about dungeon integration sounded very promising too.
