I stumbled on a secondary main quest, which it turned out was to clear the storm away from the sky. Utterly useless to me as id already humbled around there and found everything :fp:

Lightroots and shrines to go and then the only quest left is the last one. I think I'm up to 140 shrines now, surely there can't be many of them left?

Not many left at all, if you want the exact figure, there is 4 left.

Nice thanks. I've just found where 2 of those are from exploring the depths a bit, and I can probably guess where the others may be.

165 hours in to this now and I think I just want it to end at this point.

It's really great, but I do feel like I have seen everything meaningful that it has to offer. Will try and make a beeline for the end, else I fear it too may end up forever unfinished like BotW.

If some meaningful DLC were to be released in a year or so I would absolutely be ready for more though.

Wait.
Unsure if on purpose but that's not correct... It's 152. 120 on the surface (in sync with the light roots) and 32 more in sky.

You would be right :fp: I read Ad’s post as 148 not 140

Yeah, just finish the game and move on. I'd love to do that, but the controller I bought to play TOTK has given up the ghost.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Have had a break from this for a week or so, think I'm ready to get back to it and push on to the ending now.

There's still loads to do and everything about the game is so fantastic but I just don't have the time to experience it all without risking feeling burned out. I'd quite like to reach a point of closure before that happens as that's where I went wrong with BotW

Since beating the game I've not gone back to finish up on side quests, let alone find every shrine and light root. I definitely burnt out on TOTK in a way I never did with BOTW. I'm coming round to thinking that while TOTK improves on almost every aspect in isolation, BOTW holds together better as an overall experience. It's just more manageable I think. I think TOTK is the one I'm more likely to dip back into as a sandbox, but it has more of a tension between being a sandbox and being a game full of consumable content, and the latter burnt me out on the former.

I've been playing very consistently, roughly an hour each evening, and I am practically having to force myself to go back to the main story.

Yesterday, I dared to speak to Purah after having completed the fourth regional phenomenon (weeks ago now  :fp:). I watched the cutscene etc, then immediately went back to exploring the Depths and ticking off side quests 8-).

Looking forward to going back to this after my Pikmin 4 interlude....which has taken a lot longer than I expected.

Champions Leathers fully upgraded, got the reward for getting all of the shrines (pretty neat actually), Hylian Shield obtained, plenty of full health restoring items (don't seem to be able to get much in the way of gloom replenishment though?), think I'm ready to finish this :toot: Tempted to leave it for the weekend though

Mild spoiler re the last portion of the game, do you get a fast travel point just before the final boss? Or can you put down a travel medallion?

Don't relate to you thinking BotW is better but do relate to this manageability and Content business.

Though also, now that I've done so goshdarn much of it when I go back to it for a messabout it feels relatively tranquil! Lots of the claustrophobia of content is gone (but I did gorge on an awful lot of that content!)

Decided to press on, put a travel medallion near the Imprisoning Chamber, which I'm surprised and very relieved worked, finally had to defeat a Lynel on my way there

Think I'll definitely leave it for a couple of days, no idea how much there actually is left to do, but I want to do it all in one go rather than breaking off from it and that'll be easier to do from Friday.

In hindsight yeah, but he kept shooting me down off of the wall  Could have used the Lynel mask I suppose, of course I only thought of that after I'd defeated it.

Have they nerfed the damage from Lynels anyway? Recall even with the same armour rating/load out in BotW (72 rating) I'd still get battered, but that one didn't hit anywhere near as hard, or maybe I've just gained skills :slol:

I managed to avoid that one in my one and only trip down there many many hours ago. IIRC I catapulted myself across the gap and managed ot headshot stun it enough to then just glide past and leg it.
