As this is only six weeks away, I felt that it would be a good idea to give it a separate topic. To start with, here's some Twilight Princess information from today's press release.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is an HD remake of one of the most critically-acclaimed entries in the series, first released on Nintendo GameCube and Wii in 2006. Link’s battle to save Hyrule from the corruption of the Twilight Realm comes to Wii U with high definition visuals and can be enhanced with the power of amiibo.

The new Wolf Link amiibo allows players to open the exclusive Cave of Shadows bonus challenge, a brand new area where skilled players can use the powers of Wolf Link and Midna to take on increasingly tougher enemies on each floor. The Wolf Link amiibo can store hearts earned in the game for the player to use while taking on the Cave of Shadows. After conquering the cave, you can save a record of your remaining hearts to the Wolf Link amiibo, and attempt to beat your score whenever you want.

The game will also be compatible with five other The Legend of Zelda amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. Collection. Both the Link and Toon Link amiibo will refill your arrows, while the Zelda and Sheik amiibo will refill the heart gauge. In a devious twist, the Ganondorf amiibo will cause enemy attacks to inflict twice as much damage until the play session ends. See the game's amiibo functionality in action in the trailer below:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be available at launch on 4th March as a Limited Edition bundle including the Wolf Link amiibo and an audio CD with a selection of music from the game’s official soundtrack. At the same time, fans can also purchase either the game or the Wolf Link amiibo on its own.

I would recommend this to anyone who never played the original. It's a great game - perhaps at times a little too much like a 'reboot' of Ocarina of Time, but no less playable for it. A sprawling, classic Zelda adventure that looks fantastic and plays as brilliantly as you'd expect with some great new items and features.

I have pre-ordered this. Trying to get wind waker finished before this releases. Excited as I have never played TP before beyond the very first bit.

I've got a love/hate relationship with TP. I didn't get on with the controls, they were a lot worse than Skyward Swords. My overriding image of the game is dark, muddy colours.
Which is a shame as I do remember really enjoying some of the boss battles, no real memory of the dungeons.
I did play it spread out over a large amount of time as well which didn't help.

I'm guessing you played the Wii version then?

I had (and still have) the GC version.

I'm getting more excited about this release than I'd thought I would. It has suddenly dawned on me that I've only played around ten minutes of the game before - and I've forgotten everthing about that - so this will effectively be a whole new Zelda adventure from my perspective.

And we're only around six weeks from launch :toot: .

I'm curious to see what I will think of this.

I (somewhat controversially, perhaps) remember Twilight Princess as a disappointing Zelda that was saved by the novelty, at the time, of the Wii controls. I really could have used that Bow forever. In spite of that, it still manages to have one of the best item / boss combinations the series has ever seen. All hail the spinner.

The Ocarina and Wind Waker remasters both changed my opinions of those games, so I'm hoping for Twilight Princess HD to do the same. I'm quite interested in seeing how I feel about it after all these years. Although I would feel a lot more at ease if they officially confirmed the Wii control scheme was returning.

It's all about the journey, not the ending :toot: . Right? :shifty: .

It's about the ending too, jawa. Otherwise they wouldn't keep making more.

I got on a lot better with the controls in TP which are just basic slashing than I did with those in SS which to me were endlessly frustrating.

I absolutely love TP, the sense of adventure is the best in any Zelda I've played. It only falls short of OOT because it's a little too much of a rehash and most of the characters are dull and Castle Town/Kakariko both feel a little lifeless.

Looking nicer graphically in the most recent trailer, a lot sharper and clearer which wasn't immediately apparent in the first trailer.

I'm really looking forwrd to this, loved Twilight Princess on the Wii but my memory of it is quite vague, I tried replaying it around 12-18 months away but the Wii controls felt pretty terrible all those years on and it was just so murky and dull looking that it was quite off putting. Playing it again with the gamepad in HD is going to be great.
