The strength trials are easy anyway, just run away from the lasers, use your sailcloth to jump up via the fumes and then slowmo hammer the eyes with bomb arrows.

Yeah the test of strength shrines are incredibly easy as those guardian enemies are very formulaic and predictable in their attack patterns. Pretty much everything they do is easy to avoid and they leave plenty of gaps where they are vulnerable for considerable lengths of time.

Once you've done one or two there's no real reason why you can't do all of them regardless of your equipment or number of hearts.

I still maintain that one of the (surprisingly many) flaws in this game is the distinct lack of any real challenge.

The second of my two deaths was because super early on I went into a strength trial and all my equipment broke with hardly a dent in the guardian's health, so I suicided to respawn (it didn't occur to me until later that I could have just warped out of there).

So I'm not sure I quite agree on "regardless of equipment". Unless you want to spend a silly amount of time cheesing them with bombs.

I was more referring to armour than general equipment, but even there I've bomb cheesed a few higher level strength trials to completion once my weapons have gone - but it should take a while to break everything and exhaust all arrows etc. before you need to fall back on bombs, and fairly powerful weapons are easy enough to come by even in the early stages of the game.

Once you get them down to something like half or a third of their health they basically just sit there and let you throw bombs at them before doing a massively telegraphed and easy to dodge laser shot, then it's back to bombing.

"A test of patience" would be a more apt title - strength isn't really part of the equation.

Just about scrapped through Thunderblight Ganon today! needed a little help from Mipha a fairy and some food but found the best way was to fly up into the roof where it seemed the Ganon's AI struggled to reach.

Just noticed a little completion percentage on my map screen. Was that there before the DLC?

That was some update and it shows up when you have defeated Ganon.

Savour it and don't use a guide.

Once you've completed the first couple of hours or so (you'll know what I mean when you do it) don't ever worry about whether or not you're doing things in the correct order or even in the correct way. Just go wherever you want, whenever you want.

Spend a bit of time getting used to the controls and learn all the shortcuts so they’re second nature as well as being able to skip around your abilities without too much thought.

Also experiment with different weapons and combat techniques.

The game doesn't make it clear how important upgrading armour is, make sure you do that.

Finally completed the main quest! I enjoyed the Rudania divine beast and quest towards the end and then headed of to the castle.
I just wish you got to enjoy a more peaceful world after the game but it takes you back to your last save which feels a little odd to me. It leaves it feeling like the game still isn't complete as the NPC's don't know that Ganon was defeated.

I tried putting the joycons into the holder thing that came with the console - and using the bow is so much better now. My hands must shake so much :(

Don't want to read the preceding posts in case I spoil something for myself but I'm a few hours in and this game is just stupid. Simply astounding.
