After 64 hours and 16 minutes, Ganon has been defeated. I think that deserves a beer.

What a strawberry floating game. As the credits scrolled, I felt like I should write to every single person there individually and thank them for Breath of the Wild. Without a shadow of a doubt the single greatest gaming experience I have ever had.

I was not playing in Hyrule, I was a part of it. I was completely engrossed, and I felt like I was an actual part of the world. The feeling of going from being one-shotted by simple enemies to beasting guardians is incredibly satifying, and I felt like I earned every victory. I love that some of the world's lore was hidden in journals and diaries, it felt very like Elder Scrolls in that way, and it helped flesh out characters that do not get much screen time, and even explained why Link is silent.

The one question that bugs me is this: where do Nintendo go from here?

I hope we get a darker, 'Majora's Mask' like sequel that is essentially the same game but with lengthier, 'proper' dungeons and more runes or traditional Zelda items.

Although I agree with your feelings towards the game...probably my favourite game of all time.

Clambering to the top of Death Mountain. That view

Looking to the East and it's like a whole other world, it looks so beautiful and attainable. I can't help but be reminded of this...

Get weepy thinking about it

I think (Akkala) Tarrey Town is possibly the best sidequest in Zelda history.

Been whistling he tune all day.

How can anyone not become attached to some of these characters.

I'm probably exaggerating in saying I'm not attached to any of the characters, Kass is great and I've loved bumping into him all over the map and there are a number of other characters I've really enjoyed meeting, like Purah and Robbie at the research labs. Beedle is just as great to encounter as in previous games and I've really liked the champions I've met so far too (and their successors) - I think my only issue with them is that meeting with them can be all too brief, depending on how you explore the game you could go through it without meeting Kass at all (Or only seeing him once or twice). I just feel as if I'd like to spend a bit more time with some of these characters but again that's the nature of open world games.

Contrary to these points about the characters, and the disappointment I've felt at the divine beast 'dungeons' and bosses I spent a few hours exploring the map last night, found some brilliantly hidden away shrines, had some crazy enemy encounters and stood and marvelled over the size (and beauty of the world) while exploring the Snowpeak area of the map. That is definitely where this game is at its best, the sense of exploration and wonder is completely unmatched and the attention to detail is what really makes the world stand out from others.

Not with the amount of wood you have to collect later on in the quest :dread:

I just realised the flower in the logo is a Silent Princess. This is symbolic, because it is established in the game that the species was at risk, but managed to flourish after Calamity Ganon's attack 100 years ago.

It's a symbol that Hyrule will recover and flourish.

Rito Stable has tons of wood which makes it much quicker.

I got all my wood in the area right next to the village. There are loads of trees there. It takes about 10 minutes to gather the required amount. I have no idea why Mafro is making such a big deal of it.

Just met Kass? He/She played me a song  The fact that someones gone to so much effort to create a song and personality for a NPC you might never actually meet is just

I love this game.

Posted this on Twitter earlier, but it's too good not to share here.

Last night I decided to scan all my Zelda amiibo. I didn't *need* anything (I've long since beaten Ganon) but I'm still short of a few of the special armour pieces and I ended up using them all, finishing with the Guardian. As usual, he dropped three metal boxes and a chest. Now, to save my weapon I tend to use Magnesis, lift one of the boxes up high and drop it onto another to smash them both, then do the same with the third onto the chest.

In this case, I was near a stable, and Beedle was waddling about with his enormous backpack nearby. I smashed the first two boxes as normal and lifted the third. But my aim was slightly off as I dropped the box. The impact as it hit the ground shunted the chest sideways, just as Beedle was walking by, and it knocked him on his arse! I thought I was going to drop the Switch I was laughing so hard.

This game.

That's brilliant :) It's definitely the care and attention to detail that sets the world apart from so many other open world games, in so many other games that would have just gone through him or bounced off him like he wasn't there. I've had similar things happen with Koroks where I've actually put a rock down on them and they respond with an 'ouch' (this is always followed by immediate guilt!)

I love the little 'ouch' you get from Koroks if you 'accidentally' drop a rock on them.

I feel bad when that happens so I turn Link around and throw it the other way.

This happens to me every time I find one under a rock, I really should be more careful

Sometimes it even happens twice
