Is it weird that I'm 15 hours into this (supposedly) but haven't encountered lightning once?

I'm completely beasting guardians now. More or less farming them for parts.

Same. I'm thinking "Why was I ever afraid of these guys?" as I'm shooting them in the eye and cutting off their legs (saving my ancient arrows for when I storm the castle).
Still haven't gotten the hang of reflecting their shots back at them. I mostly just get hit or my shield does (and is destroyed in the process).

Got into a fight with one earlier which was really annoying. I got hit once early on and by the time Link staggered to his feet I got shot again. This happened repeatedly until I managed to fall off a cliff and hide.

That's the bit I'm getting good at.

Hint: You hit A as soon as you hear the "beep"

Couple that with chopping their legs off and slicing at them with the Master Sword, and they go down in a few hits.

Sidequest in Zora's Domain.

That's good to know. But I imagine the timing required depends on what distance you are from them. Do you find you have to keep a specific distance from them for that tactic to be consistent?

Not that I've noticed. Perhaps it is an intentional cue, so it stays consistent to make it work.

Distance will matter.

One other thing that gets on my nerves in this. Links slow swimming. Can't the speed boost be more like sprinting? Rather then a little wiggle.

At least there's some items that speed up swimming.

Is there a recommended order to do the four beasts in?

I recommend doing the flying one first as the power you get is very useful for traversal.

Someone suggested Rito>Zora>Gerudo>Goron which just happens to be the order I did them in and had no difficulties. The order of the relevant in game memories possibly suggest Rito>Goron>Gerudo>Zora, is the correct way which seems more likely to me.

I don't think it matters a whole lot.

Finished! Bit disappointed at the final boss being easy and the ending somewhat short, but man what a ride. Will go back to do everything over time (though only up to a point, probably not all 900 korok seeds :P)

Aye I'd second this, found that power invaluable for exploration.

Hebra is just astonishingly well designed. You could set an entire game there.
