It was confirmed by a Nintendo rep as being in-engine footage.

Like the art style and the idea of an open world Zelda, maybe this time it'll hook me.

Although I have to say all the talk about what open world brings and being able to solve puzzles out in the world in any way you want, seemed to be followed rather quickly by a trailer which seemed to show gameplay which must have been of an almost completely scripted nature.

I think if you are expecting Elder Scrolls levels of freedom here you might be disappointed.

In engine is a bit different to actual gameplay.

Glad they didn't drop any massive hints about the story like for the SS reveal

This does look stunning graphically. Underpowered console or not, Nintendo are making some of the top looking games this gen so far. Seems to have a hint of Wind Waker's art style about it. I'm liking the sound of open world Zelda. If it's open world in a similar vein to the likes of Skyrim and Witcher 3, I could definitely see myself loving this.

Like I said in the conference thread, I can't think of a Zelda game that hasn't ended up looked noticeably better than it's reveal trailer. It's been like that for every single I can remember since Ocarina of Time.

I missed the reveal during the conference as I nodded off so glad to come here and see what I missed. I'm intrigued to see what open world Zelda is like. Here's another version of the video where sound is louder.

That really looks like a girl. Interesting if you actually do play as Zelda in this game.

First time in years that I don't watch the conference live and they pull that out. Looks incredible

Really need to go back and finish Skyward Sword, tbf.

The footage was just so beautiful. Glad they're going with a Wind Waker type look and open world.

The footage was absolutely stunning and I love the idea of it taking place in a more open world. Hopefully it won't have the usual pit falls of most open world games where the plot suffers. Very excited, hope we see more of it at the show.

The character is wearing Zelda's cloak from Twilight Princess at the start of the trailer, doesn't appear to have a sword, is wielding some variant on light arrows, and looks rather more feminine than usual.

I'm still not terribly convinced it's not Link - that would be a heavy departure from the usual formula, and extraordinary claims (etc) - but it's certainly an interesting theory!

Hoping the openess is more about no load screens. Towns (perhaps even interiors) and dungeons all being seemless. It's Zelda, it has to have areas blocked off and inaccessible until you obtain the correct item etc. I want to get lost in the wilderness like I did playing Skyrim. But I dont want anything like that mission structure.
