Much like you guys, this is now my go to gamewhen I'm feeling stressed out or down. Within 10 minutes of picking it up sheet a fairly lengthy absence and it all clicked back into place and I was back in it.

It really is a marvel.

I definitely find that as well, just such a beautiful landscape to explore on foot and horseback. I'm finding more Korok seeds naturally this time through although it's still one of bigger gripes about BoTW (probably my only one now!), I just like exploring for the fun aspect of it rather than feeling the need to keep an eye out for rocks/puzzles.

Speaking of horses, I'm trying to use them a lot more in my current playthrough, didn't use them much before but it's a lot of fun charging into a Moblin with my spear out and taking it out in a few hits.

Hi.

Just got this!

Enjoying it so far, done two shrines.

Now then....tell me about cooking? Is it worth me going through the trial and error of mixing pointless ingredients together?

Or shall I just google that gooseberry fool? I have not really got an awful lot of time to play it and I don't fancy spending my time trying to learn how to mix food to make undelicious mush...unless it's worth actually doing?
Do you record what recipes you know somewhere? So far I've just wasted all the ingredients from the moblins and bats i've killed

Recipes don’t matter, you can throw whatever together and you'll do fine, but always cook items before eating them, they will be more effective.

All you really need to know are a few rules:
One effect per meal - for example, adding a stamina restoring ingredient to the same meal as a stealth up ingredient will result in no effect.
More ingredients of the same effect = better/longer effect.
Don’t cook monster parts/insects/materials with food – you mix these together for elixirs.

Also cooking is not a bad way of getting money, just run around getting meat (mainly anyway, can just use your bombs to get resource free meat), cook 5 together and its decent to eat as well as sell.

Been playing a bit more of this again, just got the Champions Tunic and I'm still exploring the region to the east of the great plateau although I'm going to leave the mountain till I have more than one piece of cold resistance clothing which means I'll be heading either south to explore more or north to the first divine beast.

I think the best thing you can do is cook 5 of the same ingredients. There are a couple of easy things you can cook that are good as meals and to sell, just check YouTube.

Once you know where to find the grove of Hearty Durian trees, you're set for anything the game can throw at you.

This man knows.

There is also an area with lots of prime meat or whatever it's called that makes some mega Rupees.

Is that the plain not far from Kakariko? Currently mercilessly killing loads of dear to get enough rupees to fully upgrade my house, don't think I ever found the grove of Hearty Durian tress though, just a couple in the jungle region in the south from what I recall.

No it's in the north, snowy region.

Just a quick tip, remember to take use the stone to track things.

Went to Eventide Island last night, that was fun :slol:

Died before I could complete the trial, but I'm going to have another crack at it tonight and I'm confident I'll do it this time.

Is that the one that takes all your stuff? Tried that twice and failed miserably, but I was a 6 heart weakling back then. Might give it another roll soon.

Just uncovered Hyrule Forest and met the Koroks. I swear, every time I think this game couldn't possibly get more inventive it throws a curve ball and knocks me out.

Stone to track things? Not sure what you're referring to?

Anyway, I never explored Hebra much on the Wii U, wanted to leave some stuff to be fresh for when I replayed it on the Switch, might explain why I never found the supply of hearty durians.

The Sheikah slate. Sorry it's not hearty durians, it's the big moose like animals.

Now you mention them I do remember the big moose you find in Hebra, only minor annoyance being it freezes if you don't pick the meat up quick enough.

Yeah that's right but they do give you cold or heat resistance from memory.

How did you record that? Can't see any switch functionality to record video.

Hold down the screenshot button and it will instead record the last 30 seconds of gameplay. It's supported on a game-by-game basis (Zelda had support patched in).
