I think I'm going to hold on to my WiiU copy, because I forsee a Twilight Princess GC situation in the future where the value goes way up.

The U version is in stock now at Amazon for £47.99, dude.

Edit: Or, if you'd prefer to download, it's £48.99 at CDKeys.

 Bought from Amazon, thanks for the heads up! I literally checked it yesterday

This is my thinking. I own a GC copy of TP and it is probably the most valuable game I own.

Naturally I will be double dipping once I have a Switch.

Despite having some disappointments in this I would like to take a moment to say how wonderful the horse riding is in this.

It's pretty good. I like that you can take control of them and "force" them over surfaces they don't necessarily want to go over.

I also found the Horse Shrine.... thing. Binky lives.

Pretty much how i've done it so far although i did my first beast today so there is a little direction.

I think I've done 80hours and 2 divine beasts with pretty much no direction or plan at all. Actually the first thing I did was head west to a canyon and get a strong shield, was nuked immediately after encountering a lizalfos however.

For comparison I completed twilight princess hd a few weeks ago in 45 hours.

I'm utterly loving this, but the more I play it, the more I notice things that are missing.

There are so many enemies that have disappeared. Where are the Skulltulas, Poes, Re-Deads and others? It's one of my few tiny niggles as I feel that the enemy roster is good, but I would have liked some more beyond constant Bokoblin, Moblin and Lizalfos variations. Hopefully the story DLC adds a "spooky" Island and some of the missing enemies. Typhlo Ruins would have been a perfect location for some of the creepier ones.

Agree with that. Same goes for the "field bosses" to. Long ago it became "oh its another one of them" syndrome.

I think the world is too big tbh.

Interestingly, none of those enemies are in the first game. For example, Lynels and Hinoxes are but haven't featured since, I thought Lynels were a new enemy but they're a long forgotten one. I noticed it in arts and artifacts book. Hinoxes are also in ALTTP (the ones that throw bombs) but it seems they wanted to reflect that game.

To anyone disappointed with the music in the game

AKA strawberry float you.

Goddamn, that evolution of the Tarrey town music is stunning. Hyrule Castle, too.

I've taken a break from this for a few days, but the music and characters are just wonderful. How anyone can't love it is beyond me.

The Rito Village music and the Zora's Domain music are wonderful.

Been reading this article about where Nintendo go with Zelda after this game. Obviously we've got some story DLC coming later in the year, but in terms of the franchise what do they do next? Do they disappear for another 5 years till they can make another game this large and detailed? Do they carry on with the open-world aspect? Do they totally abandon the "traditional" formula? How does the transition to "One" platform impact this as they can no longer segregate the smaller games from the main titles.?

Personally I'm hoping for a mix going forward. Big massive BOTW scale titles every 3-4 years, with smaller more traditional titles (Both 2D and 3D) filling the space. I'd love them to do a "Majoras Mask" style follow up, where they take the engine and quite quickly make another smaller but more densely packed world.

Literally not even scratched the surface i think. Ive been rolling snowballs down a hill trying to crash a door in, even the stuff leading to the shrines is fun, and its so calming and relaxing, even fighting isn't stressful, as i get used to the dodging and side jumping.

This game

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Majora's Mask was done in about a year so maybe we'll hear something about Breath of Majora after the Wild's DLC is done.

I'd be happy to see big games like Breath of the Wild every five or so years with smaller ones like A Link Between Worlds in between. At the moment, the only improvements that I have for Breath of the Wild would be to include more traditional, labyrinth style dungeons and a greater variety of monsters. I've yet to even meet one of the four races (bar Kass) so this is just based on spoilers that I didn't manage to avoid. So far this game is just  for me.

Quality find.

Tarrey Town is just glorious from what it says about Hyrule to its multicultural message to its wonderful inhabitants and that magnificent tune

I mainly want more variety in the field. I've heard the same jingly jangly broken piano things so many times its lost all meaning. Whilst the music does change for certain places I would have really liked some areas to have more unique music.

Also I watched that vid earlier and I cannot for the life of me hear OOT in either Goron City or Gerudo Town.

This please. But with a much more interesting bespoke quest.
