House is all paid off now, most of Mount Lanayru definitely seems too cold to explore without cooking up some food or other methods of keeping warmer (not even got a fire weapon either), so that will be left for later as I prefer just sticking in warmer clothes and being not having to worry about it. Think I may head south and explore the couple of regions south/south east of the great plateau and Hatano village.

Hold down the screenshot button and it will instead record the last 30 seconds of gameplay. It's supported on a game-by-game basis (Zelda had support patched in).

Oooooh, thanks.

I finally played and beat DLC2 this weekend

Can we talk about how that is easily the best boss fight in the game

Like, it's actually good.

So enjoying this so far. Probably played about 5-6 hours. Just got my pokedex fully updated so that I can record all of the stuff...guess this is where the free open world part of the game really kicks in!

I'm gonna doss about in fields for a while whilst slowly collecting memories.

It starts from when you get the sailcloth/paraglider because you can turn around and head in the opposite direction and still defeat Ganon whenever.

Which is the first thing I did, I ended up in the canyons on the way to the desert area and got merked by a lizalfos well before I encountered any kind of civilisation.

I think they should have gone a step further than that and let you wander off without any items at all but they implemented "deathboxes" according to Reddit on the matter, so if you climb down the plateau or whatever you just die.

I realised that...BUT i thought it'd be worth following the main quest for a wee while to discover a few things about the game etc. I think I'm gonna go completely off the rails now and do whatever the hell i want!

I realise my descision to follow the main quest for a while could have backfired....like in TES IV: Oblivion where you follow it and close a gate, and then the whole sodding world is littered with them xD

I didn't know that about Oblivion as I wandered off in that, stayed up until 7am and got the flu to never return to the game. Started it again literally last week and have just closed the first gate lol.

Yeah following the questline is fine, just what I really like is there's no requirement to do so which is not really possible in other Zelda games (except some of the GB games and A Link Between Worlds) due to the way items are arranged. It's so refreshing and I normally get lost/bored in open world games.

Kvatch is one of the stand out moments from Oblivion though so it is worth it

Memory number two found! I could see them two duelling mountains and wandered far trying to get the right scene. Gosh this is fun. I didn't sleep on my break on night shift last night as i played this the whole time :fp:

I really need to crack on with this, just so I can finally play the DLC, as OR said re the last boss of DLC 2, I've heard good stuff about it and can't wait to play it for myself :)

45 hours in apparently, got about 90 korok seeds and done a big chunk of the shrines. Barely touched the quests though, can't really be arsed with them at the moment.

To be honest exploring the world is just so much fun you kind of forget about the main quests anyway!

Just exploring the tropical region in the south east, just activated the tower. Planning to explore this region, then Lake Hylia before going north to do the first divine beast. After (what'll probably end up being) 40 hours I'll probably be ready to take on a divine beast.

Think so far I'm on 19 shrines and 72 Korok seeds, think I've actually got more Korok seeds in my time playing the Switch version than I did in 100 hours on the Wii U version.

Edit, 21 shrines and 77 Korok seeds.

You're buying the DLC, Fisher? What did you think of the main game?

I bought the DLC despite not being that far through the main game - I know I'll get to it eventually, but I really wanted the extra map feature so I could see where I've been.

I must get back to this game soon - I keep thinking about it, but have a lot of games in my backlog...

Is it on offer or something?
