I kind of did that to walk through it and get the chest.

I tried it that way and still couldn't do it. Fiddly, crappy puzzle. Plz no more motion control.

Don't see the problem with the tilt puzzles, they're pretty straightforward. That guy took more goes doing it the "cheat" way than I did doing it normally.

They are gooseberry fool and if you are on U using the gamepad only they are impossible.

It's because the calibration drifts. Restart the control panel thing ever now and then or don't spin the gamepad everywhere and it's tolerable.

There's only about 3 puzzles like that which shows a lot of restrain after skyward sword depending entirely on it.

Elsewhere the motion controls are fantastic. Archery on semi autopilot horseback especially.

Good point, hadn't factored in that the U might pose more of a challenge.

I found the crazy golf style shrines more frustrating than the tilting ones, properly annoying!

I enjoyed it. :shifty:

Way more interesting then just more combat. Loved the moment in one where you have to carefully place it for you to reach a chest.

There is a clear punishment for choosing to always cheese enemies by throwing bombs from a window, and it's the most fundamental one in gaming - it's not that fun. Why would you complain about it then choose to do it?

So is having to wait for the rain to pass but damn it I still did it! :P

Thought on this regarding the bombs. Its a really easy fix. Just have bombs as ammo like previous games.

Died so many times playing this last night, I can only realistically kill the regular garden variety Bokoblins, everything else just one-hits me.

Food and armour. There are lots of interesting things you can make but I think it's easier to just chuck 5 of any particular item in to get 3 star potions/meals.

Where can I get better armour? I'm loathe to use a guide but so far I haven't found any settlements (only just left the Great Plateau really) where I can buy gear, and every enemy down below the plateau seems uber-strong.

Go in the direction the game told you to go and you'll be fine

Just get to the first place it tells you to go. Make sure you get the armour and upgrade when you can, the game doesn't explain it at all but this is essentially your 'level' and more important than hearts to actually make some progression. Remember that the game world adjusts straight away to whatever armour you have equiped.

I didn't know this - I assumed the scaling was done off number of shrines completed!

EDIT:

Well damn. Did not realise how this worked at all! Scaling is not related to number of shrines, number of hearts or armour level.

Killing a Moblin via spinning the sledgehammer :datass:

I ended up having loads of two handed weapons somehow... Definitely need to explore the first two towns more.

I remember once one of the lanky enemies picked up a smaller enemy to throw at me, but misses and chucked him straight off a cliff

Started this earlier today. Played for about 3 hours and haven’t even got to the first objective yet  in love with this game already. Been waiting to play this since it was first announced, and then when it was released last year. Told myself I’d wait until I had a Switch - which I knew was going to be at Christmas - to pick it up. And I’ve played through most of Odyssey first to prolong the pain having played loads of Skyrim in PS4 in the last few months. So far it’s everything I’ve been hoping it would be  so many moments already where I’ve thought to myself “I doubt this’ll work, but let’s just ohmyfuckitactuallydid.”

Quick question: is there any way of diving into water? I’m trying to get to a chest in a shallow-ish pond and have tried jumping in off a nearby ledge to no avail. Seems like there should be a way of doing it but I feel like I’m missing something obvious.

I'm not sure I believe that. I wrote on here about how I was struggling with only getting rubbish drops, as soon as I started upgrading my armour I got harder enemies and better weapons. If I changed to armour that hadn't been upgraded I would only get the standard moblins.
