Built my first lego set since I was a kid today

Awesome bit of kit, great display piece! I'm not a fan of the lego characters themselves but I collect Art Asylum's minimates line (lego sized figures but much more detailed) and they fit perfect with the Ecto-1

And of course, the scene wouldn't be complete without......

Not lego but I was bought this for my birthday

Just need someone to assemble it for me

That neck looks a bit flimsy, tempted to glue it together.

I'd get that if I had the space for it.

Got Wall-E and the Birds set on Friday. Both really good sets.

Is there a Batmobile on par with Ecto-1 set? I've seen the Tumbler one but I'm after a Batmobile like the one from the Tim Burton films

There used to be this one:

Its a good set, looks well and is a solid build but Im afraid it has been discontinued so youre unlikely to find one for a decent price any more.

Wall-E

That neck joint :dread:

If anyone wants a quick/easy fix you can wrap a tiny slither of masking tape around the pivot and it *really* sturdies it up nicely so it's posable rather than having to balance it one location. The Big Bang Theory set is available now too, but it pales in comparison next to Wall-E.

What's wrong with one of the neck joints, they all seem sturdy and hold any position you can put them in on my set...

The one that his head actually rotates on (the bit that pivots both up and down and side-to-side) is completely loose. If he looks up the weight of his head swivels it around completely :p

Yeah that is a big shame, itd be nice to be able to pose him some way other than looking straight down. Still a very nice build though.

That's not entirely true, I do understand what you mean but it is certainly possible to make him look upwards on that joint without the 'head' spinning round backwards. It just requires you to balance the centre of gravity so that it doesn't spin.

Well, yeah but it's a bit of a design flaw for what's otherwise a fantastic model ;) Not quite "fully-posable"

There are lots of things you can get to balance by finding the centre of gravity. That's not really engineering though.

Just pointing out that its not quite as restrictive as people might think.

Just a heads up that Smyths are doing 20% off everything instore except for videogames. Amazon are now price matching them on Lego. Ends tomorrow. Got the new Falcon off Amazon for £103 and the Simpsons Kwik-e Mart from Smyths for £134. Some right bargains.
