I just want one of those limited edition Lego Millennium Falcons. As soon as I have a spare $2000 lying around, it's so mine.

An artist has created a 22ft model of the USS warship Intrepid using 250,000 pieces of Lego - taking thousands of hours and a whole year to complete.

Ed Diment built the model, which weighs almost 40st (249kg), on board the Intrepid, which is now a museum and docked in New York.

The warship, which launched in April 1943, and was decommissioned in March 1974.

Mr Diment, who has been building models with Lego since the age of three, explained how he began the huge task of building the warship, which has been valued at more than £30,000 ($50,000).

My wheels came through just (from Big Ben Bricks). They're a bit chunkier than the wheels from the Emerald Night, but they seem alright so far. They grip the cross axles a lot tighter, too.

Just managed to drop one, and now I can't find it :fp:

Still trying to do this Goliath on the Lego Digital Designer. Haven't even got started on the cheese slope boiler (which are about 50p a pop!) and it's already up to 45 quid... :( It's gonna end up being more than the Emerald Night at this rate...

Just a bit

There's a really big community for Lego trains, though (it's probably the most popular series amongst adult modelers), and Lego don't seem to want to sell the big wheels for the steam trains, so the guy spotted a gap in the market and got in there. I think he actually did the big steam train wheels before Lego actually did the Emerald Night, too.

Just been making this in the Digital Designer, to see how much it'd set me back:

Image

(most of the black bricks around the front end would be replaced with yellow ones from 1001 bricks, btw. The Digital Designer seems to not include all the bits I need)

£60.99 :x

So if I were to make something approaching a full Eurostar (two engines and a coach or two), it's gonna be almost £200 :(

Think that's out of the question for the moment, then.

One thing you could do is, before you order the pieces, go through your collection and see what pieces you already have. It might lower the cost a bit.

That thing is utterly glorious  I found the Lego Shop at Home catalogue that had that in when I was tidying my room out. £250 :(

Just found this, too. Look at the "Frequently Bought Together" section

Also, the Maersk train is still available on the Lego website. Might buy it to cheer myself up :shifty:

And Dangerblade, Creationary is brill, get it ASAP!

i'll get some photos up, i still own the entire set of pirate soldiers (the french blue coats) from 20 odd years ago, its my pride and joy of my lego collection.

got a humble amount of star wars lego, some exo force (a few years ago lego mechs basically) and some lego knights stuff, again from about 15 years ago.

i keep meaning to finish my lego ice planet collection, problem is i have no space to display it all, so i buy it build it, love it then break it down and box it away. would love to get more B-trons and M-trons too.

never did lego town, i was a big fan of pirates, for the nepoloenic soldiers, big fan of sharpe in the early 90's, and lego space.

i like the lego games, i won the minotaur one, tis a good laugh.

i have a gooseberry fool load of the free mags you used to get in toy shops, the yearly mags lego always did.

i was an odd kid, i kept everything...

i want this...

i'll post pics tonight of my lego soldiers and exo force, found the pictures, unfortunately its all boxed up cuz i have no space to display.

Frank I have the Lego Space Monorail set :D
Found it in a toy shop in Italy and had to carry it back to the UK as hand luggage! Only really set it up once, but I love it.

I got given a couple of Batman Lego sets yesterday, they're well smart:

Joker's Aerial Assault was a bit of a nightmare to build. My wife had to buy it from a couple of different eBay sellers so there were no instructions, I ended up having to work of scans that I'd found online.

Normally, that would be fine, but, seeing as most of the Batman stuff is black, it was really tricky trying to figure out what piece went where.

Here's an example of one of the pages (spoilered for size):

I got there in the end and here's the finished article (along with the Killer Croc set, much easier to do as it came with the booklet):

Here's a video review done by the least interested boy in America (he actually does a pretty good job of showing off all the features:

Loved building them and they look cracking sitting up on the shelf. Sorry Suzz ;)
