The Mini's a great little kit. I bought it for my mom for a few months ago. Took her weeks.

Bought her the Ideas bird set for her birthday next month. Not sure she'll be keen on all the tiny parts, but we'll see.

Can I have his number? :shifty:

From the lady for Christmas. Wanted once since I was about 7, over the moon. She kept asking if she could build a wing and I kept telling her to piss off. She caught me flying it around the living room making shooting sounds late at night, though. :fp:

He cant get mates rates unless he us buying 'for personal use'.

You would be shocked at the mates rate.

Makes lego sound like crack. Which if course it is - in a way.

On a serious note, words cant describe my jealously for him! We were halls mates at uni on our engineering degree 15 years ago. He spent 11 of the subsequent years tying to get into industrial design, culminating in dossing down on my flat in the East End while trying to find a job in London. One day I took a delivery of a huge box of Basic Lego that formed a part of his application process - ie build and take pics.

One month later, he's jacking in London and moving to Billund.

My generosity for putting him up was rewarded - with Slave 1.

Although obviously everything he does is top secret, the stories he tells, along with the reveals of the models he designed once released is such a wonderful thing to hear.

Got the new Lego mag in which shows some new stuff not on the website yet.

NEW PIRATE SHIP!

And Nepoleonic soldiers!

Rumours are that later in the year they'll release a new Soldier's fort.

Anyway, first half of the year, 4 new Pirates theme sets and a junior set. Pirates being my fav theme ever I must say I'll probs be buying all of these to add to the original pirates and soldiers.

Pirates = A bit very very good.

Linen sails and lots of nylon chord = not good.

Well jel.

Pics of the build please!

The more I look at it, the better it seems. I loved the way the Pet shop was split in two - this one is also so, but is split into even more 'areas'. Detective agency, pool bar and barbers. The design is incredible.

What are peoples thoughts on the Ghostbusters set? This thread always makes me jealous as I love LEGO but I just can't really justify spending the money on it. However, I watched Ghostbusters yesterday and was also giving a bit of cash from HMRC which was a nice surprise.

Also tempted by the Mini as it looks fantastic.

I really want my parents to clear out their attic as I still have loads of LEGO Star Wars there. I'd be very happy if I found my X-Wing again.

If I had a bigger place with more room I think I'd get a couple of those amazing looking buildings too. That detective office looks fab.

I bought the Ecto 1 for the Mrs and she (we) love it. It's a really nice little set with some nice touches.

This one was perhaps my first ever Lego set. There's only one other that may have been earlier. Would have been 3, can still remember my mum giving it to me when she got home from work.

This was one of my favourites. There was a trap door that dropped into the prison cell.
