New Mario set confirmed today, a Piranha Plant! Fairly expensive for how many pieces you get (think its about £58 for 540 pieces), looks neat though, might pick it up just to go along my ? Block and Bowser sets.

Last year my son was given a load of biiiig Ninjago bike/spaceship things by one of my work colleagues whose son has outgrown them. They all came assembled and I've come to the decision that all the Technic axles and sprockets are a barrier to him enjoying and exploring Lego on his own so I'm having to take apart and sort these absolutely humongous models. There's two big Ikea buckets and one of the hollow Lego brick boxes. It's taking so long and it's by far the least fun part of Lego

I don't regret finally sorting by colour a few years ago.

I kept some separate bags for franchise/specific colours and parts combos etc, lights, tiny parts etc and otherwise the basic colours are all bagged. Red, yellow, green, blue, grey, black and one mix I think. I have a lot of the basic colours from earlier sets mind you. About 25 years worth of Lego at the time. They've since introduced a lot more.

I'm being a bit of an internet idiot and I can't figure out what I need to delete to embed a tweet now, BUT, Lego Animal Crossing is officially coming! No real deets on sets yet, but at least we know we're getting a Marshall minifig?

Mentioned in the other thread but I think they'd make a fortune just doing minifigure blind bags.

Hope they go for some actual decent sets alongside what I imagine will be an AC version of the Mario NFC sets.

Yeah, I thought about colour, but to my mind it's easier to say "I want a flat bit" and then sort through the different colours then it is to say "I want a red bit" and then have to sort through a sea of red pieces. Short of having ten thousand little drawers with one piece each is always going to be a compromise.

18% off the Rivendell set on the Amazon Prime Day Deals :datass: Still an insane amount of money, but that's a great reduction.

It's showing as normal price for me - do you have a link? Very tempted but Lego.com has 3 GWP and double points.....

I've been selling stuff and saving (I'm up to £320) so it may be time to just go for it

I do have prime, and logged in..... I did wonder if it might have already sold out at that price? :(

Edit: Maybe US Amazon only?

Oh that's weird I saw it on hotukdeals earlier and now I can't see any mention of it  Maybe it went up early or something and it's meant to be coming later. Sorry :( If it pops up again I'll chuck a link in!

Thanks!

I just had a quick check on hotukdeals and it was on offer at 20% off back in September. I missed it back then (and didn't have the money anyway) but it's good to know that it's a possible deal!

Edit: It was 18% off today from Amazon Germany. Expired now though. :x

Might it come to the official sites Black Friday deals? Few weeks away from that of course but I assume they'll say what will be included beforehand?

Just browsing the official site and the Venator is on back order already, it looks like an amazing model but £560 is steep, plus its huge, I think if I was ever going to spend that much on a single set I'd save up a while longer and just go for the UCS Falcon  Which for some reason has a purchase limit of 5 on the official site? Who the hell is going to buy 5 of those?

Only sets I'd be looking for a good deal on are the NES and the Peugeot Le Mans Hypercar.

Many large sets are 25% off at John Lewis at the moment.

e.g. Jazz Club is £150 instead of £200....

UCS Falcon just over £550 with that!

Decided not to spend that on Lego and bought the Piranha Plant off the Lego site, looks like a really nice set.
