There's a London Bridge model that's pretty big. Likewise the Ghostbuster Firestation and Simpson house are both sizeable sets.

I do get what you are saying though. People ask me if I am big starwars fan because of my Lego Death Star, and really I only bought it because it was the biggest set at the time.

Yeah, they've done a few big buildings (I think before this Millenium Falcon the largest set was the Taj Mahal), but they haven't really done many big buildings for a while - I think the large scale Houses of Parliament was the last one. They've done Tower Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and an Eiffel Tower before, if you fancy scouting ebay for anything

I would be super interested in massive cars, but I cant see it ever happening.

Forgot to upload this a while back, too;

Literally 5mm too long with the spike.

The Porsche gt3 is pretty big. Almost bit when I saw it in London but didn't fancy carrying around town for the rest of the day.

I like the Porsche a lot, that and the F40 are on my hitlist. The problem I find with them is there is too much of the technics stuff, I prefer pure bricks. Still, Ive seen people do amazing things with the gearboxes and stuff.

Id really love a complete engine and gearbox kit from some iconic vehicle. Super detailed moving model of just the drivetrain alone.

Some of the creators online have done little dioramas of Lancia Deltas and Peugeot 205's and they are simply stunning. I would love a schematic for them.

The Porsche is indeed a fantastic build.
One thing to note with it is that the gears are intentionally out of sequence as Lego felt it was better that way, but there are instructions on the internet to put them correctly.

My cousin went into the Lego store in Brighton and took this side-by-side shot of the new UCS Millennium Falcon and the Death Star...

Crikey. The Death Star felt huge and complex when I built it, now it looks rather simple comparatively!

lol the Death Star looks like strawberry floating Minecraft next to that.

It's interesting how they've added the much cheaper sets around the side, the massive one draws the kids in and then the parents settle for a pocket money purchase.

Went into the Lego shop in Leicester Square yesterday, damn that Millenium Falcon is impressive! Always liked Lego but have only ever bought the Ecto-1.....looking around the store was making me tempted to pick up a few sets :shifty:

Really liked the look of the fishing tackle shop, looked really good and detailed.

The Ecto 1 was a reasonable price

I've just discovered the Lepin stuff over on Aliexpress.

Man, China really don't care when it comes to copyright.

I wasn't aware of this. They appear to be of amazing quality from any reviews I've read. The interesting thing that I read the other day though is that overseas companies are finally starting to win copyright court cases in china. Lego has one going on at present against lepin so these sets may not be available for much longer. That or they will just ignore the court and carry on.

Are they good quality? I'd have imagined the Lepin sets to be inferior quality pieces, smaller, not as detailed, etc. Are they really like for like with the Lego models they're ripping off? :shifty:

This is an interesting comparison review. I would imagine that the the quality may differ on different sets. My concern would be that you would have missing pieces or parts that just don't want to go together properly.

Price is the barrier for buying Lego for me, those Lepin sets though would be nice if they are good quality

It's impractically huge, silly money but I'm still going to get it!

Now that the initial hype of the pictures is dying down I think I'm going to pass on this. It looks amazing and I'm sure it'll be a great build, but then what? I have nowhere for it, I don't collect the star wars stuff (I'm into modular buildings, and already have more than I can display), and also I got the Ninjago City set recently which is a huge build. And I'm so tempted with Destiny's Bounty too.

One Millennium falcon = around 4 and a half modulars....
