Such a great set and I think it's really good value for money (particularly compared to something like Ecto 1 which I was quite disappointed with). I'm looking around now for something new to buy. On that basis, what's your favourite recent set?

I really liked the WALL-E set, although the head section could have used more work I think.

Try the Yellow Submarine. It's a similar difficulty and brick count. And it's also yellow.

Yeah, the neck of the Wall-E seems to have a flaw. The head section/eyes look really good but they're too heavy for the neck joints.

Wasn't massively tempted by the Yellow Submarine, not sure why. I think the camper van looks lovely, as does the mini. Some friends have got the Big Ben set which is enormous but looks like lots of building of the same thing over and over again. I quite like the the ramshackle nature of the old fishing store but it's more than I would usually spend.

Other than that, I'm half tempted to trawl ebay and see if I can pick up the 80's Technic car chassis set for those 1985 Christmas day feels.

The camper is an excellent build, did it myself a couple of months ago. Totally recommend it.

The VW Camper Van would have been my other recommendation but I decided not to mention it because I think it's now discontinued and expensive.

They changed how the neck worked on the Wall-E model and I think if you contact them that they'll send out the parts and instructions to make the new neck work with the old model.

The VW camper is still available.

I didn't know this, thanks. I've emailed customer services to request a fix kit for it.

I took some pictures of anybody is curious as to what kind of stuff they had.

I've never been but I've always wondered about going, what was the Fade verdict? Would love to see some of your pics, too!

EDIT: Also I had no idea about the Wall-E repair kit despite buying it straight from Lego - Surely they should be able to see who bought one of the original versions that needs the fix? Will have to email them ASAP.

Sent them an email about the Wall E fix kit, all sorted with a couple of hours. That's some service.

The customer service at Lego is going to wonder what the hell inspired all these requests.

I've not opened my pre-recall Wall-E as I assumed it'd become more valuable... :shifty:

I've been posting a few pictures of the Falcon build on Instagram as I've been working my way through it. I like how even the boxes inside the main box have been glammed up a bit with various quotes about the Falcon. Don't like how the bags don't appear to have been put into the boxes in the right order, though (like the first box I opened had like... the 1, 4 and 11 bags in, or something).

My room is covered with the plastic parts bags now.

They came like that! Outraged. It's such an impractical manual, though. So big.

I would love to be building that :datass:

Must turn my technic jcb thing back in to the jcb from the combine harvester form it's in. Good evenings build there.

Frank when are you going to build one of these instead like a proper boy

That's where I last dropped 100% of my disposable income. :D :(

This time last year

I couldn't live with myself spending this much on a Lego kit though given my circumstances.

It's an amazing set so far, though. Buyers remorse hasn't kicked in yet.

That's awesome. You can play and work soon.

I just spent 2hrs scraping silicone glue off 1 of 4 reclaimed oak floorboards. :dread:

But I still have all my Lego in transparent tubs in my workshop / studio / office.. spare room.. Cave.

Could never fit a set like this literally anywhere. I might use one of my ikea cubbies as a mini Lego city.. Trouble is when you build anything significant you then find you don't have enough basic pieces for something else. I should get some bags of neutral colours for that. I really want to build something minifig scale that makes sense, haven't done that since I was a kid. Something like what's in Brick City (got my copy signed :) ) and Brick Wonders. Anyone have those books? They have some interesting examples.
