Wait, what? Is that out?!

gooseberry fool, I didn't realise. What's it on? I only have council/povvo TV, so maybe that's why I've not seen it.

Adored that book, though.

Amazon Renews Man in the High Castle for a Third Season - http://www.vulture.com/2017/01/man-in-t ... eason.html

Only watched the 1st 2 eps of Season 2 so far but it's been decent.

Season 2 Episode 10 Spoilers

Whilst I thought that it could be ended on episode S2E10 I'm glad its been renewed as whilst the bit about Takomi(?) getting the Bikini Atoll clip from our universe was very clever I'm hoping they have a similarly clever explanation for the clips from the future.

It would have also been a bit dark to leave the world under the grip of Heinrich Himmler.

My comments from the USTV thread are also now pretty moot as they've managed to tie everything back together nicely.

I've started reading the book, but I'm finding it a bit hard going. Probably because I already know the characters so I'm finding the scene setting chapters a bit dull, but my understanding is that the book differs quite a lot from the TV series.

Finally caught up with this and it's absolutely fantastic.

For some reason, I can't claim to love it. I don't know why — its quality is assured.

It's hard going, sometimes very slow and even confusing trying to follow several interlinking stories concurrently.

Really looking forward to the third series, even if I know it'll take me six months to get through...

11.22.63 is embarrassing and almost completely terrible, by the way. What an awful waste of a great premise.

I'm with you on finding it a great watch but not quite loving it. Maybe it's a lack of truly captivating characters and humour? All I know is I am in love with Alexa Davalos. She's amazingly beautiful.

So, 18months late to the party. Just finished Season 1 of this and loving it. It's my new binge for boxset viewing.

Never read the book (or heard of it) and stumbled across on Prime one day. Great idea of a story and a compelling watch. Oberstfuhrer John Smith, The Marshall and Chief Inspector Kato are excellent characters!
Onto Season 2 now

Been hoping for a disc release for the last couple of years, pretty much given up on it now.

Watched the first episode of the new series a few days ago and really enjoyed it, but my wife is fed up with it. It is undeniably ponderous and episodes exceeding an hour in length make it a hard sell for the evening viewing schedule.

I don't find it ponderous weirdly. It's unusual for me to be attracted to a story heavy drama but this has gripped me from the get go. It's obviously not a high paced action thriller but it is immensely gripping and engaging.

Didn't get chance to watch any over the weekend and having withdrawal symptoms!

I read the book recently. I am unsure how they'd make three seasons based on the book alone? Have they gone off on their own storyline?

Yes. Apart from the basic premise (Some Characters, Nazi's win the war, flash forward to the 60's, the I Ching, parallel dimensions) it's strawberry float all like the book, and with the last season it's becoming more like Wolfenstein. It's slow and ponderous at times, but I still like it.

Never watched the 3rd season, but I think myself and the wife might go back to this if there's only one more.

This really is a show that is fantastic and shite all at the same time. I usually enjoy watching it but hearing about a new season doesn’t fill me with any joy either.

I think it would have worked far better as a show based on the Nazis/Japan winning WW2 but with none of the sci-fi bollocks. But then it wouldn’t have anything to do with the book either.
