Looking at those pics it feels like I have rubbed my eyes really hard and fast, opened them yet can't quite gather my vision

Yes because it would be so easy to do for 40 or so games

It took them flippin ages just to do SSF2THDR, it would take them like another generation of consoles to finish the pack

Meh, it wouldn't be that hard. FFS, it's not as if those games have thousands and thousands of frames of animation, is it?

:?: We're talking a full graphical make over ala Street Fighter, it would take aggggggeeeeessss.

As much as I would love to see it, 40 games worth of is not feasible and I doubt very profitable

Who's talking about a graphical makeover? All I'm saying is why can't the sprites and backgrounds be either redrawn or touched up to make them look more acceptable in HD?

Rather than applying some were filters to smooth them out? Sure it'd cost some money and time, but it'd also give an incentive to people who'd played the games to rebuy them. Otherwise it's just money for old rope. Something like this

Obviously, these have been redrawn. But you get the gist.

Someone seriously needs to make a petition for a 2D Sonic in HD and get everyone on here to sign it. I'd organise myself but then i'm too lazy.

Why did it take them so long to do SFHDRemix then? I'm pretty sure it's not as simple as adding extra sprites.

Street fighter has rebalanced gameplay as well and has pretty good netcode for the online which doesn't just appear overnight. But I do agree that Sega probably think it's more work than it's worth to them when they can just dump old ROMs in a package like this.

We can dream. If Castle of Illusion was included this would be promoted to a "must buy" game for me.

I wonder if Sega will release those games on Live Arcade as well?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. :shifty:

Anyone know if this pack will have the option to take off the graphics filter?

*edit for poor spelling*

So I just read that while this collection includes Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles as separate games, there is no Sonic and Knuckles lock on with either Sonic 2 or Sonic 3 included, despite the fact this was included in the Sonic Mega Collection compilation released for the Gamecube 6 years ago.

It's confirmed in comment #17 from a Sega representative.

But Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the best Sonic game. Why deny us that? :|
