Drives me up the strawberry floating wall :x

My outside handle doesn't move the latch thing only the key does so they could have the same deal with theirs.

They have the exact door handle as we do (both new builds), so they're just being noisy banana splits.

You should send your missus round to give 'em hell.

I personally think the govt should introduce some sort of legislation which will make house builders install adequate sound proofing into properties.

Mine is a newer build and the thinner walls mean my idiot neighbour is even worse than he would otherwise be.

That said, earlier today, one of his snowballs slammed into my front window with such force i thought it had gone right through (thankfully no damage caused).

They probably just think "Well we have insulation rules and insulation probably blocks the sound just fine"

That's probably due to them living in big detached houses themselves, so they aren't forced to listen to their neighbour piledriving Mary J Rottencrotch in the early hours of the morning.

Thankfully I live in an old town with old houses made of real bricks so it's rarely a problem.

I really think the other people living next to a bus stop are going to have excellent noise tolerance which is hopeful.

It literally stops a metre from the front. And there are no dogs. Result.

Ugh, the soundproofing in mine (less than 10 years old) is practically non-existent. Some guy was round a while ago trying to fit a handrail onto the wall and couldn’t, strawberry float all to it. Detached is the only way to go if you want some semblance of privacy in new builds, cheaply made tossed together rubbish.

I guess they handn't heard of rawlplugs, which have recently surged in value in recent years and walls are just not made of wall anymore.

The most soundproofing our building has is "no laminate flooring as the sound echoes downwards". You can hear every cough, every phone call and every bang that the old bloke downstairs makes, and the one squeaky door upstairs.

Not as posh as it sounds, there's the drive in front of the garage to one side of the house, then a bit of grass in front and another driver to the other side of the house.

I live in a 120 year old building, the walls are super thick and I can still hear my neighbour sometimes but I think it's mainly because of my kitchen wall being slightly thinner. I don;'t agree with my neighbours political opinions (he's anti immigration despite immigrating here and to many other countries from Brazil) so I don't talk to him about that, but otherwise he's sound.

My other neighbour I barely bump into, but he's super duper nice too. I got lucky.

'Super duper nice' :dread: You hang around on american forums too much (but that's just my hot take).

I love old buildings, it'd be great to have an old cottage in a remote village one day.

The woman opposite though, fucccckkkk me, talk about u ok hun x. Fat, single mum, smokes, shitty little rat of a dog that she never walks and leaves in her garden all day on it's own barking, mini that she drives like a strawberry floating lunatic. Worst of all though is her driveway is right by her front door with about 5 deep steps leading up to her front door, but that's obviously too much effort for her as she rarely parks on it, instead choosing to park on the pavement right outside her house, thereby meaning she doesn't have to drag her fat arse up 5 steps. This place is directly opposite our 1st driveway, meaning on a day like today where getting out is tricky due to the steep hill and ice, I've got her gooseberry fool car to 58 point turn around.

Why dont you use your 2nd driveway then

Because the van is parked on that one due to it being the longer of the two, and the 1st one had the car on it, which is used more often.
