Yes, let me expand on this.

It all started with a gate.

It probably sounds like nothing compared to some of the stuff you all have to put up with (especially you jawa, been in the middle of that kind of thing before and it's just horrible), but my next door neighbour is just an extremely intolerant and unlikeable person.

We've been living here about 12 years now, and everything was pretty much fine for the first few months; nods and Hellos were given, even the odd chat across the garden fence.

Then the front gate started getting held shut with a zip tie overnight. Not just once, but a good few times over the period of about a month. I took it to be someone nearby, but didn't think it was my neighbour as he'd never mentioned it being a problem.

The zip ties obviously weren't working, because the next thing that happened was the gate just...went. I asked around a few other neighbours to see if they'd seen anything, finally finding it hidden behind the bins belonging to 'him next door'.

Confronting him about it just led to me getting an earful. Apparently it rattles in the wind and keeps him awake, and it's his property too and he could do what he wanted with it (we live in a semi-detached so he had a point). My issue was that he'd never brought it up so I could have done something about it before it got to him acting in such a way.

It's gone from there since then, with me getting grief about various other noise related issues, whether they're within my control or not. Having three children (with one being autistic) means there's always going to be some level of noise that can't be avoided. I do my best to limit it, but still the complaints get fired my way. Usually a few months apart but always by the point that he's got himself so wound up that any interaction now is just me getting another earful.

The latest tension is related to the cats that we got about a year ago. Unfortunately, they'd taken a liking to a particular area of his garden and decided it would do just fine as an outdoor toilet. When he had a go at me about this, I was in full agreement with him, I'd hate to have that happen as well. Trying to smooth things over, I bought him a couple motion sensor sonic blaster things to deter the cats from his garden. He was very grateful and apologies were exchanged. But now something else has obviously happened because it's gone right back to the way it was and I'm currently waiting for him to lay into me about something any time I step outside. I'm really hoping it's just a coincidence that one of the cats has been missing for almost two weeks now...

tl;dr Next door neighbour hates any kind of noise, children and cats but won't say anything about it, instead preferring to bottle up his rage until it reaches breaking point.

The neighbour on the other side of me is ok, seems to spend most of her time on the back door step smerkin' a faaag, but is generally nice enough.

Her back garden has purple grass though. Purple. Grass.

I'll let you all decide who's the worst of the two.

Bet that’d make ‘em move quicker than they’re used to.

Don't know how I missed this (distracted by stool bloke no doubt) but that sounds awful.

We actually get on with the neighbours next door on either side, so don’t want to put up a high fence, low fence also let’s in more sun, we do like our sunlight.
Would be good if next door neighbours erected taller fences the other side though, but it’s not likely as they’re council tenants.

Someone has stolen a bush from my front garden!

I come home and there is a hole in my border where a bush used to live. Some bastard has come along with a shovel and dug out one of my plants from my own strawberry floating garden! We're not talking a small shrub here, this thing would need a wheelbarrow to have transported.

What kind of person does something like that!?

Sounds like the work of the scumbag next door to me.

First year i was living here, i planted some daffodil bulbs for the spring, then, when spring arrived, there were none in my garden while his was a sea of yellow flowers.

*Stool Bloke Update*

Looked like Stool Bloke was about to spend his day Stool Bloke-ing as per usual...

Image

...or so i thought...

Image

As the morning continued, more and more stuff appeared...

...until it reached the point where the whole of his front drive became swamped.

Image

*EDIT: Just saw him carry out a big wooden cabinet with glass doors, couldn't get a pic though as he put it on the pavement behind the hedge*

On a separate note, if anyone wishes to produce a Stool Bloke Calendar, there should npw be more than enough available images in this thread.

General clear out or perhaps Stool Bloke is finally tired of the constant surveillance he lives under and is getting ready to move house?

Say what you like about him, but Stool Bloke keeps a tidy privet.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.
