I love the Elite pad personally, I prefer the weight and feel of it over the regular pad. I wonder if they will bundle it with the upgraded consoles when/if that gets released

Well I liked the look of it and I paid £17.99 for a 360 controller and got about 6 years use out of it.
This one is a joy to use and even thought it set me back £100, if I get the same amount of use out of it, it's worth it. It's my preferred controller on PC.

Next Gen Xbox Elite Controller Details Surface
For the past few months, I have been hearing that Microsoft was working on a second-generation Elite controller and now the details are starting to surface. I did my best to confirm this information before posting and I believe it is accurate; I was also able to dig up a few more details as well.
The information first appeared on Baidu and the basics are that it is rechargeable via USB-C, has Bluetooth support, 3 level trigger locks, 3 profile switches and longer key travel for the paddles. In addition, the device will come in a new case that will also act as the charger.
The benefit of the updated case is that when you put the controller away, it will charge. It’s a simple addition that goes a long way towards making the experience feel premium.

Nope, they run on 2xAA batteries
If you want rechargeable you have to spend an extra £15-20 on a play and charge kit.

Funny thing is, all the photeks of the internet say how great it is you can use your own batteries ("just use rechargeables, what's the problem?!"). Watch them now proclaim this to be amazing now Xbox finally has it ("unlike the sub standard lithium battery in ps4 pads, the Xbox one x PRO elite uses a much higher quality battery that won't suffer degradation").

I had no idea.
I also assumed they had moved onto the built in rechargeable model.
I was mildly annoyed at that when I got my X. Something that "Premium" and they couldn't spring to include a play and charge kit.

Nope, I just discovered this myself. I replaced my knackered xbox 360 wired controller I play PC games with, upgrading to an xbone controller, and I surprised to see two knock off duracell batteries in the box.
