Thanks for asking Denny, I am free that evening

I was going to ask if I couldn't find someone. Alas - I have.

Just discovered the Theatre Cafe in London. Oh my  They've just been playing nothing but Hamilton :slol:

Less than an hour to go until the Book of Mormon! I hope it's good now...

It is

Think it got a bit too mad towards the end, but it's easily the funniest thing I've seen in a theatre. The doctor was amazing :slol: Gonna download the soundtrack tomorrow for work!

I love how the Mormons have actually got adverts for the *real* book of Mormon in the programme  They take it in good spirits.

In other news, there's two Hamilton tees on qwertee today. Kinda tempted.

Glad you enjoyed it. I also went out and bought the soundtrack immediately after seeing it. Still listen to it really often.

Well, Kiss Me Kate was a bit of a comedown after yesterday :| first and probably last Welsh National Opera performance I'll see.

Not sure it really needed so much of the Taming of the Shrew in there, too. None of it was really beneficial to the plot and it just kind of drags watching a comedy musical and then having scene after scene of scene-chewing shakespeare :fp:

Overran by twenty minutes too, which really isn't on when the show's already 2 hours and 50 minutes. That's ridiculous.

Just on the way back from London after seeing the Last Five Years. Samantha Barks is perfection  Her voice is insane. Such a good show, too. I'm not sure how easy it'd be to go into blind, though. The non-linear setup and how often the two leads are onstage performing to empty space (the two literally only interact in the middle) would probably confuse a lot of people.

It's fantastic, though. So glad I got tickets

Went to see my first ballet last night, the Nutcracker. Really enjoyed it although didn't really get the story, but the dancing and music was great.

Did you pick up one of the cast lists that has the plot synopsis on? They're invaluable with most ballets :slol: Not sure when I'm going to get round to seeing it this year - Trying to get some free tickets for it from the Hippodrome after the Kiss Me Kate fiasco, but I'm not sure if they'll allow it. They've offered me some for another WNO show, but after Kiss Me Kate I'm really not in a rush to see them again...

Got a free pair of tickets to go and see Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Alex in February, though. Joanne Clifton

Also, for anyone who's interested, the Hamilton Mixtape is out now! Basically covers of songs from Hamilton by other artists (Usher/John Legend/Sia/Regina Spektor/Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon to name a few) with a few bonus tracks of songs they cut from the show. Expecting good things.

It would be glorious. Although I've never been to the opera, and much like the ballet I'd be wary of not understanding what was going on.

Wikipedia is your friend.

Go there. Then YouTube the main songs. Then google wher they've been used before - ie films adverts.

Then you start to see themes etc.
Then go and see one.

Or just jump right in

My friend's just mentioned that Bryan Cranston's making his UK theatre debut later this year: http://www.whatsonstage.com/london-thea ... 42736.html

Definitely going to try and get tickets for that. No idea what the show/film's about, though :slol:
