I could never find a comfortable way of holding the damn thing, the left 'prong' always used to dig into the back of my left hand when using the analogue stick .

I once considered sawing the left prong off but was too worried about breaking the controller in the process.

If they do 30 games for the SNES Mini, I'll guess they'll raise the price to £79.99 and my guesses for the games they will include are:

#. Act Raiser
#. B.O.B
#. Castlevania IV
#. Contra III: Alien Wars
#. Donkey Kong Country
#. Donkey Kong Country 2
#. Donkey Kong Country 3
#. Earthbound
#. Final Fantasy III
#. Final Fight
#. F-Zero
#. Kirby: Super Star
#. Legend of the Mystical Ninja
#. Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
#. Mario Picross
#. Pilotwings
#. Secret of Mana
#. Sim City
#. Starwing
#. Super Bomberman 2
#. Super Ghouls & Ghosts
#. Super Mario Kart
#. Super Mario RPG.
#. Super Mario World
#. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
#. Super Metroid
#. Super R-Type
#. Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo
#. Super Tennis
#. Tetris & Dr. Mario

These aren't my personal picks but guesses at what they will include.

I would happily pay up to £100 for this.

Super Metroid, Zelda, donkey Kong and Bomberman 2 will do me. I'd love the original killer instinct and some of the third party Disney games too.

Wish my image sig would work

30 essential games (which are also realistic due to non-licensing issues) are:

Super Mario World
Super Tennis
F-Zero
Pilotwings
Zelda 3: Link to the Past
Super Ghouls N Ghosts
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Mario All Stars
Super Probotector
Super Castlevania IV
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Yoshi's Island
Megaman X
Secret of Mana
Illusion of Time
Terranigma
Super Metroid
Donkey Kong Country 1
Donkey Kong Country 2
Donkey Kong Country 3
Axelay
Sunset Riders
Sparkster
Sim City
Super Aleste
Final Fantasy III
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario Kart
Starwing
Actraiser

Saying that, I still believe the Eurogamer article is a bunch of rubbish. They also predicted Zelda would be delayed and Switch would launch with Mario...

Do you think Nintendo use it as an opportunity to make it unhackable or would they quietly overlook that?

But let's not pretend it was any good.

Are you saying F-Zero was no good?

He is. And he'd be right.

Play it today and come back and tell me it plays well.

What revisionist bullshit is this?

I would 100% buy a SNES mini, I wasn't too sure about getting a nes mini and missed the boat.

I never understood why sega didn't produce their own mega drive and master system versions and instead just licensed out the mega drive which has lead to complaints that it's unreliable etc

Sega have a bit of a history with that sort of thing. The Genesis 3 was licensed out to Majesco in 1998 and lacked some features of a standard Genesis along with some compatability issues.

The telegraph are now reporting the snes mini although they probably ripped it from eurogamer.

I got the AT Games Mega Drive for Christmas (I bet my dad was beaming with pride as he bought his 31 year old son the same present I got when I was 9!). I agree some of the emulation is pretty shonky for the onboard games, although a lot of the games on there I'm playing for the first time. Off the top of my head the Mortal Kombat and Sonic ROMs seem noticeably slower than the cart versions, and I'm not sure Sonic Spinball is the same speed, although that always seemed slower than I thought it would be even in the nineties! All the physical carts I've played seem to be fine. Can't really fault it as its got me playing all my Mega Drive games again!

I'm excited about this console. I never had a SNES so I'd love to pick one up. Wasn't bothered about the NES Mini at all, but if this is at a decent price I'm tempted. I'm almost less likely to buy it now we know there's going to be a mad rush. I don't want to be pressured into spending £80 on something just because it won't be there tomorrow...

Perhaps £80 would be a bargain after all...

I'd definitely be interested in this. The NES mini had my interest more as a novely, not so much for the games - most of which I already owned or had at least played before (still baffling that Nintendo don't seem interested in the easy money that fulfilling demand would give them). But the SNES and its library really passed me by and so I'd be much more into this.

If the games were right, I'd probably pay £99.99 for this without any problems.
