I train pull ups a couple of times a week, love them too. Once you're good at them they do feel great, one of the most satisfying lifts.

Can crack out 12 easy now with perfect form so been thinking of wearing a weighted vest, not certain my previously torn shoulder would cope though.

This is essentially my before shot with me hoping to make as big an improvement as possible in just 5 weeks.

The main issue with it being that the lighting in my flat is dreadful so takes away any and all definition to leave me looking significantly flatter than in real life. First world problems ;)

Just realised the app's not uploading it properly, strawberry float it

No workouts for me for the first time in over 2 years :toot: :x I'm so conflicted

Had a fever on Monday. Went into work on Tuesday and had a dizzy spell and kind of fainted for a split second  Was lucid af moments after, but doc says to rest for next few day, and that includes no working out.

On the plus side I lost over 5 kg since 31/12! Though how much of that was down to healthy eating and working out and how much of it was because of the fever I wouldn't like to guess :slol: (Woke up this morning and was drenched in sweat. Felt like a million bucks though! Go figure.)

| (•_•)| S: This is the best date I've been on since my last date. PB: This is not a date.
S: Neither was the last one. It was a robbery. M: Really? S: Yeah. She stole my heart. And my crown. (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)

The benefits of the All-Flu diet  Hope youre over it soon. Just enjoy the time off! I went back yesterday after a week off. Good session but holy gooseberry fool am i ever sick of getting foot cramps. Does anyonel else get these?? I seem to get them all the strawberry floating time. Ive been drinking more water lately to make sure im properly hydrated but im still getting vicious cramps. Last night it started about halfway through my session and lasted all the way til i got home. The cramping literally was switching from foot to foot.
On the plus side tho, after my weights session, i did 10 minutes on the treadmill just to see how my chest would hold up. It didnt feel great afterwards, but not awful either. A little cough here and there post run, but i was able to do the 10 minutes relatively easily. So hopefully its a sign that this chest gooseberry fool is finally on the mend.

The cramp was jumping from one foot to the other?! Get thee to a podiatrist!

I'm so glad I was told to take it easy because I have no doubt that if I wasn't I would have worked out first thing, even though my body was aching like a bastard.

No gooseberry fool, it would stop in the left foot then the right one would cramp up  Its been like this for years now.

My dad has that flu, and it absolutely wiped him out. He was in bed for about a week, so just take it easy!

Finally after months of hard work in the gym, I've just managed my first unaided muscle up.

In fact I did 3 in 1 session. However they weren't consecutive.

The next milestone is to do 5 in a row. But now that I know how the technique and timing works, I don't think it will take so long. Once I can do 5 I'll record it for prosperity.

It's such a silly thing, but I was so ecstatic after pulling it off that I cheered at myself in the gym. Of course I've not told anyone at work as it seemed like an odd thing to talk about.

Pulled a strawberry floating knee injury tonight at Kung Fu. :x

Thankfully it's not too bad, but I had to stop for 15 mins and forgo the kicking routines. Will have to strap it up for my private lesson this Saturday and any training I do out of class, but it's a good opportunity to focus predominantly on my hand techniques so not all bad.

Still pisses me off, though.

I stopped doing Kung Fu for 18 months due to other, family stuff and have only been back since last November. Pulling my knee aside I am loving it again. During my break, though, I'd already been an NHS porter for a year or so, so walking anywhere between 8-15 miles a day while lifting and carrying various bits 'n bobs and pulling, from one ward to another etc, 600lb beds with patients on I've kept up a reasonable level of fitness. That said my physic is more Sammo Hung than Bruce Lee. Like Sammo, however, my physical appearance belies my ability. ;)

I tried a muscle up once. I failed

But good job Stu! Theyre definitely not easy.

Hit 130KG 5x5 last night on my squat :D strawberry floating delighted with that. Chest is a teeny bit better but still not good tho. I did about 4 mins of HIIT on the assault bike and my chest was starting to bother me again. Ah well.

I am gonna aim to get back to BJJ in March. Might try no gi as I'm gonna be essentially starting from scratch now that ive bee nout so long, may as well do an entirely new version of BJJ while I'm at it.

Good work Brer, that's awesome.

Made some great progress over the last couple of weeks with increasing weight. I've sacrificed a bit of cardio due to time but adding an extra set to try pyramid sets or just attempt as many reps as possible with a few more kg's has really paid off. On the big three I've been adding an extra kg or two every time I workout and I'm really happy with the progression, especially with deadlift's as I really didn't like doing them.

Since Sunday night I've been completely wiped out and been in bed with a temperature, chesty cough and just feeling horrendous. I'm hoping it's just a really bad cold as I had the flu about 10 years ago and remember it taking ages to get back to 100%. Is there a general rule how long you can go without training before you start to lose strength, muscle mass, etc.

Getting back into the swing of things after a long 2 month break. My goal is to final get to grips with doing pull-ups properly. Wondering about hand positions. How wide do you guys go? I'm currently going pretty wide and struggling to get my chin up and over the bar. Any tips?

If you keep your diet on point I don't think any muscle wastage at all happens for three weeks. May be incorrect though.

I've still got the tail end of flu, mad tempted to go to the gym tonight but trying to talk myself out of it. Scared of getting a chest infection.

Raging though, had to take over a week out and prep for ny holiday couldn't have been going better. Will have 4 sessions now at best before i leave the country, is ok but still slightly frustrating.

I don't really have that much of a planned diet other than trying to eat healthily and have protein with every meal. Didn't have much of an appetite on Monday and Tuesday so probably lost a bit of weight. I was going to ask some questions about diet as it's probably the thing I've found the most difficult.

Probably best to rest mate, I'm awful at going back to training too soon after an injury or whatever. You don't want to spoil your holiday.

Are you doing any training on holiday or is it just for pleasure?

What is it you find difficult with diet? Just getting enough protein/calories in? I had to tailor mine a lot as I'm a natural ectomorph and since being diagnosed with crohns I've had to pile the food in.

Nah man just pleasure only lift on business trips and when backpacking for a long amount of time. Normally like to go crazy the last few weeks before a holiday and use the time away as deload time but hasn't worked out like that this time.

Managed to keep myself from going tonight, no point in overworking and strawberry floating up my health for the holiday just to stay in shape. As i probably won't get a decent session in for a few weeks now i took a couple of shots, bit less muscle mass than i was packing before and the terrible lighting removes all definition but still think I'm looking decent. Come back with a tan and within a month of lifting I'll have surpassed it.
