Ive heard of people using milk bottles for water. The logic goes that you start the day with a full bottle and have to empty it by the end.

Makes sure you get your water in at the same quantity every time if you need reminding of that kind of thing.

Would give the heaves, love milk but hard to wash smell/residue away. Whatever works for folk suppose.

Didn't do legs for two weeks due to various injuries. Done them Tuesday and still hurt today  :fp:

Think I'm reaching a bit of a plateau with my workouts/muscle mass gains, going to change it up considerably I think.

Raised my squat from 40kg 3x8 two weeks ago to 70kg now, got my next meet with a strawberry float buddy sorted for two weeks time so hoping to be repping 90kg by then - hopefully get a bit of abs showing back.

Lifts that require forearms more aren't progressing quite so fast but bench is up from 40 to 65 at 3x10. Was struggling like hell with dips today - first time I've tried them back and was intentionally emphasising the lift on my chest but felt like my pecs were about to rip open, don't think they're quite back used to the exercise. Managed 3x8 which is a huge step down from when I was cracking out 20s but will come back in time. Was quite para about them as they were the first lift to screw my wrists.

Arms are making slow progress due to no chins or pulls and limited tricep work but was expecting that.

After Thursday's gooseberry fool session of gooseberry fool I strawberry floating smashed it today :datass:

Increased my max reps of back squats @ 90kg to 10. Bench @ 55kg to 12 and the rest went pretty well. Feeling good.

Currently training for the wolf run. Anyone else done it? So far I've not been able to motivate myself to run more than three kilometres.

I did a running session with a mate, an 800m runner training to come back to fitness this afternoon. Sort of like HIIT - mile and a half warm up/warm down and 6x 3 minute hard runs, followed by 6x 10 second hard sprints. Finished an hour ago and can still really feel it, which can only be a good thing(I hope :slol: ).

It's all part of the ultimate goal of running the Great Scottish Run in sub-50 minutes in October. Current best 10k since I got fit again is 58.01(all time PB is 57.01), so got a fair way to go yet.

Should probably have put this in the running thread.

Object Character Recognition. It's how computers can turn images to text files.

Couldn't find any more acronyms to take the piss with so I'll have to do with an actual answer http://ocrauk.org.uk/

Yes somebody else getting into OCR! :D

Get yourself to Spartan Race!

I have no idea what OCR is, without going to Google . Happy to join in with the enthusiasm, though! Unfortunately, the underside of my right heel has spawned a weird and very painful blister that actually seemed to form from the inside out. Can't even walk at the moment!

What's the best way to train for a Wolf Run in your experience? I find the treadmill very dull, but I do need to increase my cardiovascular endurance and I'm not too keen on running around outside (I live in the city centre).

Edit - hadn't seen Hawky's post. Obstacle course racing, got it!

Edit 2 - took a pin to the blister. Lots of fluid came out and I can walk again, praise Allah!

First time deadlifting with straps. OK I got 9 reps out before I felt like I couldn't breath. It seems although I felt it was my grip that was limiting me I can't actually knock many more reps out at that weight  Managed all 30 at 130kg with sets of 3 all the way through. My form was a little shakey on the last reps though.

No thanks, I did Tough Mudder in 2013 and that was more than enough to satisfy my curiosity.

Great time for your first ever 10k mate.

FE are you using chalk? I would do that before straps.

strawberry float. Having to put today's session off for tomorrow. I walked too much yesterday and got that weird knee pain again. It's mostly gone today but I'm going to take an extra day off just to make sure it's 100%. I don't want to pop my kneecaps off during deadlifts or some other serious gooseberry fool :slol: It's odd though, it tends not to be painful under load, but hurts like hell of I bend my knee too far. When I was walking it would 'build up' to the point where I'd have to stop and then go away for a few minutes. Odd.

Maybe I should get someone to look at it? The NHS wasn't interested because it's not all the time. I have private health cover through work which I never use, I might see if they can hook me up with some kind of scan / check. I'm guessing I have some cartilage damage from when I was jogging too much.
