Let me watch the footage again and I'll see if it's worth uploading
There were a few times I thought about kicking but I was still adopting a traditional boxing stance out of habit and could feel my balance going whenever trying to manoeuvre round for a kick.
My footwork most disappointed me, when boxing consistently a few years ago it used to be my strongest aspect. Was lighter back then so didn't have as much power but could avoid blows and control the ring much better. Think I'm just out of practice but my footwork the other day was dire, couldn't manufacture the right space between us at all. He knew his reach was shorter so stayed in my face the whole time but I could've backed off more effectively and set the range much better. There was one uppercut in particular which I think could have ended the fight had it landed but I slightly misjudged the distance and came up a couple of inches short.
It is harder too when he used kicks to bridge the gap between us, not used to that at all.
Totally agree about the fixation though, as you can probably tell
Moving in to a different flat when back from Thailand in a couple of weeks which is reasonably close to a boxing gym which has produced a couple of recent world champions.100% getting down there and getting my skills up. Think my muay thai days are over, spending the rest of my time here partying
