Was just having a think in the gym there what I'd recommend you, that looks pretty good to me - with that rep range you will notice strength gains more than mass, though. But personally I would always recommend a program that focusses on strength initially then you can move into higher rep ranges once you have a good base from which to hypertrophy from.

Assuming you're going hard with all those lifts you will find it exhausting alongside cardio I would think. Personally I'd recommend deloading on every fourth week, particularly if you're finding it hard going.

Yeah, it does seem strength based, but having the last set to exhaustion will help, and I can increase my rep range slowly over time if I feel up to it.

Yeah, might be tough going. Just will have to build up to it. Need to think how I'm going to change up my cardio routine too, but still a few weeks yet so got some time to figure that out.

Not really this thread. But for those of impeccable tastes, is it acceptable to use a full size commuter kick scooter in broad daylight?

My ex boss gave me one to sell, but I'm not sure I can be bothered selling it. I guess I could give it a go, but I don't want to look like a twat.

I dunno what that is. A microscooter? They're really popular here in Budapest, look pretty wanky to me (and would look worse in the uk as they've not been popular since about 2000) but hey, do what you want, strawberry float what others think.

I got weighed for the first time in 3 weeks this past weekend and I was over the moon with the result. In five weeks I'm down from 19 stone 9 to 18 stone 2 which I certainly wasn't expecting.

 no not one of those, a normal push scooter, but with big wheels, grip tape and tall handles with brakes. Short of like the long board equivalent of a skateboard. They fold up and are meant for shortening a commute around somewhere like London.

It was a passing thought. :shifty:

Getting old sucks. :(

But I can still play games and fiddle with gizmos.

Niiiiiiice!

My weights down to 79.2kg as of yesterday. 76kg is the goal. I'm definitely overtraining at the moment - I've done 2+ hours for 17 of the last 20 days and starting to feel it a bit.

Now that my shoulder's improving again I'm looking at getting back into combat sports - I don't really trust it, alongside my previously strawberry floated wrists, with throwing lots of punches into a heavy bag though.

I see there's a bjj place quite near to me so thinking of going along in a few weeks time once my shoulder's near fully recovered to check it out. How would you say the injury profile with it is? Have you come across any major problems from it?

Well you'll hear a lot of people say it's a low injury, low impact sport. But I take that with a pinch of salt. Youve probably as much risk of injury as you would in a game of football. Some people are unlucky and get hurt, others just scrapes and bruises.
I've been hurt from it, but nothing worse than say, a bad case of DOMS. Got my arm continually cranked during kimura drills which left it sore for a few days. Skinned my knuckles badly making grips on my partner's Gi, got mild strain in my groin at one point, bruises pretty much head to toe, and a bit of a sore throat from being a guinea pig for collar chokes, but honestly so far the worst injury I've had was outside of BJJ, my wrist injury from hitting the heavy bag.
I think if you're careful, and are lucky to not get continually paired up with spazzy white belts, you can train as safely as possible for a combat sport.
Seriously white belts are the most dangerous people in the sport, when I train I do it slowly, methodically, trying to memorize all steps of the move, but some dudes are just like "I must do this as fast and hard as humanly possible" like it's life or death (I am a WB but I like to think I'm not the spazzy kind)

Cool, thanks for the info.

I've never done anything similar to bjj before so imagine I'd be getting consistently paired with white belts but yeah, hopefully they're ones that pay proper attention to form and don't focus on showing off strength!

Assuming my shoulder continues on this trend I'll give it a shot towards the end of July, think I'll enjoy it anyway. And that doesn't sound too threatening towards injuries that would impair weight lifting (fingers crossed...)
