Pulled a 220kg triple today on my last training session before my holiday. Very happy with that. 250 by Christmas is on.

So I've been to the gym 9 times in August so far. Back at the start of the month, I had just started weightlifting for the first time in about 4+ years. Was doing 60KG bench 3x5. Yesterday I did 90KG 1rm @ bodyweight of 85.8KG. Then 80KG 3x8 then a 4th set for 5

Muscle memory is legit. Wouldn't be surprised if I was back to benching 100KG by the end of September.

Weight on the scales hasn't really budged in 7-8 weeks so I decided to start weightlifting again and keep up the swimming. Now I do swimming 3x a week in addition to weightlifting 3x a week. Clothes feel looser but the scales is stubborn, fingers crossed it's recomposition - losing same weight of fat at same rate of gaining muscle weight. Abs certainly feel like they're becoming firmer and more visible (still a long way to go before I have 6 pack showing!) so I don't think it's optimistic thinking.

I'll hop on Testosterone Enthanate, Trenbolone Acetate, Deca Durabolin, Clenbuterol and DNP if all else fails. :slol:

Does anyone use any ios apps to track their workout? I have tried several and have yet to find one that just simply allows me to create and repeat workouts and track progression with ease.

I really like Fitocracy because it looks great but it keeps being a dick for me so I've stopped using it.

You can still see a great difference, well done.

And gl if the android app 'progression' ever gets ported then get that, it's awesome for lifting tracking.

Looking great on the right brer, can definitely see the obvious improvements. Although to be honest I don't actually think you look that bad on the left (no homo). You still taking a break due to injury?

I'm having an enforced couple of weeks off due to traveling, not the most happy about it as it was when I was starting to make obvious progress again but hoping to really go full on from next week. Need to hope my lack of a diet these weeks won't impact me too much.

Good that you managed to get back on it even if your head is still feeling strawberry floated, traveling round the highlands and off to Holland tomorrow - been pretty sweet!

Think I overestimated the ability of my shoulder with regard to BJJ though, was hoping to get into it as soon as I was back in Budapest but had a yoga class this evening and the range of motion's still way off a normal level.

Also has anyone tried yoga before? Christ I'm inflexible

Sup brahs

What kind of gooseberry fool can I give to my girlfriend to do at home before she works up the courage to hit the gym? She just wants to get fitter, not fat or anything but she is coming off a pretty serious knee ligament injury so nothing over bodyweight for now I reckon.

Was just going to try and work out some sort of situp, pressup, pullup, plank flavour thing for her. Any ideas? Every day at home, prefs with no equipment. She'll be joining me for training after shes in the routine.

Aye I was thinking about insanity or p90. I was concerned it might be a bit deep end for her.

Had four-six weeks off from running and really suffering trying to get back into it. Doing a 13-14k route which is ridiculously hilly outside Winchester and it's absolutely brutal. I have the New Forest Half Marathon in 10 days and I'm hoping this hill training really leads into a nice flat-ish 21k but right now I am so far from confident :dread:

Personally I found fartlek and hill sprint sessions the most beneficial, but I can't imagine doing a race with a month and a half off. Good luck.

I got a 10k trail run tomorrow in the lakes, should be nice as long as it doesn't piss it down. Took my training easy this week, mainly because I was too busy working on the bike over the weekend but it's also been good to let my body recover from the 6 day weeks I was doing.

Back in the gym 3 months after injuring my wrist and my knee again. Wrist is still painful when I'm holding a loaded barbell so bought some KT Tape the other day to try and help, not really sure if I believe it works.

Have you tried other wrist supports? I found bear grip ones really helpful when I tore the ligaments in my wrists.

I'm trying to go the the gym before work more frequently. But that meant I do t have time to eat a proper breakfast before going to the gym (unless I get up stupid early).

What would you guys suggest I have before going when I do go early? Probably hitting the gym 30 mins after waking up. I normally have a coffee, but are there any foods I can eat/drink that would be beneficial, but not obviously too filling before going to the gym?

So only started regularly going to the gym in late July. Gone from benching 60KG 3x5 to 85KG 3x3. Went for a 100KG bench 1rm yesterday and failed it, but managed 95KG.

I'll definitely have 100KG bench done by the end of month.

People in the gym must think I'm on something for strength gains to come about so rapidly. :slol: Good ol' muscle memory and creatine.

Couple of bananas is pretty decent and super easy, provides ample energy.

Well it did rain.

Also due to weather earlier in the week/ year the course had to be changed so was about 11k. Now keep in mind in July I did a flat road race in Leeds that was 10k in 55:24.

I did the 11k trail run in 55:40 and came 83rd out of about 460.

Pretty damn pleased with myself.

I eat some Soreen before the gym to give me some energy, then a protein based snack afterwards for recovery.

Jesus don't run on that!

I honestly feel like I have to. It's one of my runs for Cancer Research - I really can't drop out of things I've been sponsored to do. I'll see how it holds up to dancing like a madman at PPM's wedding reception tonight and hopefully that'll loosen it up

I've heard that dancing is actually the best thing for a fractured foot.
