Solid result tonight. Not exactly an inspiring performance but I've seen worse.

Villa vs Brentford is a very decent game of football. Both teams fairly going for it.

That maupay banana split should be off the pitch though, proper dirt stamp on mcginn.

Last season Sunderland would have let their heads drop and given up after conceding a goal so early. Not this season. This season we equalise 1 minute later and then score 3 more for good measure.

We tried to do our best to give Reading a win, but Paul McShane was having none of it and gave us two penalties to give us the draw. Could have gone on to win it in the end but I'll settle for a draw based on how badly we played in the first half.

Just back from Norwich PNE, 75 minutes of boring turgid football from both sides, followed by 15 minutes of solid attacking play from Norwich. Needed the 3 points to get our season started. Big game against Leeds next, hopefully we manage at least a point.

Anyone a Stoke fan? What's happening there?

Sounds about right - quite happy to keep our unbeaten run going for now given that they went 2-0 up, but we need to be beating teams like Reading at home if we want to stay comfortable!

It's just such a shame for poor old Gary Rowett :(

It's kind of baffling. You could say they are stronger now than they were last season with so many signings from the PL. Maybe the squad has the attitude of they just need to turn up and will walk to the title.

Stoke struggling couldn't happen to a nice forumite  Rowetts gone there for the payday, the squad and probably thinking it would be an easy win for him, now he is back in the same situation he was in with those dickheads over the road in small heath. :slol:

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Blackburn have signed Jack Rodwell.

I'm quite interested to see how that one goes. There's no doubt he was a good player way back in his Everton days, but he's also probably the worst signing Sunderland have ever made. I honestly thought he might retire after leaving us as it sounded like he'd stopped wanting to play football.

You've also signed Harrison Reed on loan from Southampton. He was with us on loan last season. Ended up playing at right back also as much as CM for us. I think the general consensus was that he wasnt a bad RB but a little shaky in CM. A lot of people wanted him back this season as possible but we added a lot of other midfielders during the summer so no need.
