To the Pompey fans my understanding is that a Supporters Trust used to own Pompey before selling to Eisner. Did you agree with this decision at the time and have you subsequently changed your mind? And do you know what general fan sentiment is (with the benefit of hindsight).

Separately Dons fans, I heard there was murmurings about dissatisfaction with the supporter ownership model during a bad spell earlier this season. Following a better run of form, what's the genera consensus? Fans want to keep the supporter model for the control or they want to sell it off to a sugar daddy to try and fly up the leagues?

Yes I backed the move. I still think we would have been in real trouble with the supporter model thanks to a century old stadium falling to bits (which would have shut down parts of the stadium long term). That said, while they are incredibly good at doing the basics, free sponsorship, patching up the stadium, Nike deal, new facilities...they are kept wanting when it comes to really ambitious stuff, and results on the pitch have been poor. Certainly the fanbase is bored of the malaise and watching smaller teams crawl past us. So complicated basically, I just want them to sort their act out really.

Not sure how but still unbeaten in 2023 (or since boxing day). Can't see us beating Man City tomorrow, just hope it doesn't knock our confidence.

I have the Friday and Monday around Saturday 11th March off, and am planning to use it to have a long weekend somewhere and tick off one of the 92. Originally I was going to go to Grimsby, as it seemed far enough away that I wouldn't do it in a day trip, as well as had a few attractions that would keep me entertained for a few days.

However I recently placed a bet on Oxford to be relegated at 20/1 so have some significant financial interest in the League One relegation race. I was eyeing up Burton vs Wycombe as a result. Anyone been/live near by?- I'm guessing it's too small to be worth 3 or nights so probably need to stay in either Derby or Birmingham (neither of which I've been too before). Anyone got any tips?

Other options were Shrewsbury vs Morecombe- but I think I'd rather sit in a home end- and I think Shrewsbury is not close too much, Peterborough vs Cheltenham or MK Dons vs Cambridge (these are probably a bit too close to me in London to be worth a weekend),

I went to Burton away a few years ago. I can only speak for the walk from the train station to the ground, but from what I saw, it's a bit of a dump! I certainly can't imagine spending three nights there.

I think you'd struggle to fill three nights in Derby (if you're staying within the city area) whereas there is a lot to do in Birmingham. What sort of things will you be hoping to get up to during your stay?

It will be me by myself so probably fairly low key stuff. Maybe some kind of comedy/show one night, a Saturday morning Parkrun, somewhere to watch the Norwich game Sunday lunch time, and ideally some kind of guided tour of something (either the town or some interesting local site of historical interest). I will not have a car.

You'll find much more to do in Birmingham. There are several areas to visit within walking distance, which you could split into your different days, whereas you'd cover most of Derby in a day.

My local Parkrun used to be at Cannon Hill Park. A nice track mostly around a lake, and you'll also get to see Edgbaston cricket ground, if that interests you (it's literally right next to Cannon Hill). It is a good 40-minute walk from the centre, but I used to enjoy it as a warm up (and then warm down) for the run itself, providing you aren't unlucky with the weather!

You'll be spoilt for choice for bars and restaurants. Who knows, you might even bump into me on the Friday :shifty:.

Off to Luton away tomorrow (paging Peter Crisp to the thread), first game this season!

Swansea haven't been playing well recently so hopefully if the football is bad then the culture of Luton will make the day worthwhile...

Sheffield United looking poor, lucky not to get a red card as well. We’ll be very lucky to get a point from this match.

Luton are looking like they have a good play-off chance again this year.

Not bad at all considering how little money they spend on players and that they make heavy use of loan players.
In terms of pure money the club have zero chance in the Prem and if we do get promoted it'll be a minor miracle if we survive as we won't go on a spending spree as other teams have done to try and stay up.

I’m just annoyed how much we’ve dropped off, not watched the highlights of our loss to Luton yesterday but imagine it was a typically poor performance from us (it certainly sounded woeful on the radio), genuinely think we’ll be in the play offs and we won’t have a chance of going up through them. This seems worryingly similar to last season too, although our drop off that year was a lot more due to injuries rather than just poor performances.
