 Moggy, post of the week.

Reckon I'm going to start using this for Scottish football chat as well, so you can all be updated on Gerrard's progress(or hopefully, lack thereof). I don't think anyone gives a flying fig about the league beyond me and Ianf anyway, so it's as good a place as anywhere else.

Why must you turn this thread into a house of lies?

Things don't look great for AFC we've lost our best players and our new stadium looks to be delayed. It's going to be a tough couple of seasons.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

Yay new thread!

So if (as I reckon seems a bit likely) Steve Bruce leaves Villa (and he should.....I think), then according to this well known website that I'd never heard of, we're after this former Inter Milan manager...

https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/exclusive-former-inter-boss-in-line-to-become-aston-villa-boss-34312

Odd one.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

Bielsa is the favourite for the Leeds job. That should be interesting.

We’re looking increasingly likely to splash £13m on João Carvalho and a loan deal for £39m rated (buyout clause price) Diogo Goncalves both from Benfica. “Super agent” Jorge Mendes is involved apparently.

Looks like we’re thinking of doing a Wolves? Exciting, but scary if all true.

If Forest do a Wolves I suspect it'll backfire on them. It's a seriously high risk strategy - succeed and stroll to the Premier League. Fail and be condemned to financial fair play regulations, potential administration and possibly even relegation.

Taken awhile but looks like Graham Potter's appointment at Swansea is finalised.

It's definitely a gamble with his lack of experience at this level. Still, an exciting appointment nonetheless and I understand he had his team playing attractive football in Sweden which would be great to return to.

Yeah, that’s the scary part.
Knowing us, we will fail spectacularly and it’ll be a case of selling the Crown Jewels shortly after

I’m sure this will get sorted without issue, but nevertheless, not good:

Exclusive: Aston Villa Football Club suspends CEO Keith Wyness less than a fortnight after Championship play-off final defeat and amid suggestions that HMRC has served a winding-up order against Villa, one of England's oldest professional football clubs, for missing tax payment.

Lack of news on transfers thus far is petrifying. Neal supposedly told someone at Ascot that he's been on the phone since the end of the season, but I'm worried we'll leave it until the last minute and end up with another Lloyd Sam or some other dodgy rubbish.
