Good luck all today. I hope your pre-season optimism survives past 3:05pm :toot:

I don't remember the last time I had pre-season optimism for Blackburn. All I pray for is survival.

There's a 16 year old starting in midfield for Sunderland today. Somewhat nervous now. :dread:

Think Villa will end up finishing 6th-9th. Weaker squad compared to last season so not expecting any improvement unfortunately. Hopefully will beat Hull on Monday though, think they might struggle this season.

It's ok, we have a good record with youngsters. Just ask Adam Johnson.

On the train to St Andrews (just after minting procrastination and then leaving my ticket behind), first day optimism.

What's the state of Blackburn's ownership like? Is it still the Venkys? How do the fans see them?

Yes. They've put a little bit of effort in with their last few appointments and while they're not exactly loose with the purse strings they do seem to be trying to make up for the mistakes they made in the first few years. There was a rumour that they would get a massive compensatory payment if Blackburn dropped into league one within the first ten years of their ownership. Completely unfounded of course, but the turnaround since we went down has been quite interesting to watch...

I'm just going to enjoy being top of the table. Might be the last time we see it.

Well that wasn't an ideal start! No complaints about the result, as for the most part Swansea looked the better team expect for the very first 5 mins and a spell of 10 mins or so in the second half Swansea just looked the better of the two.

Defensively we looked poor at points as we did attacking barely getting on target (think 3 in total), couple of efforts that should have been on target weren't.

Oh well.
