Managed to blag some hospitality tickets for the Falcons Lions game 8-)

Draft in just over a weeks time, I am interested to see who drafts what, but as I have never followed any college football I have no idea who anyone is. I wonder if Belichick will draft anyone with questionable character again

Seems like I missed the boat on the main sale and now face paying extortionate prices.

They usually get returns from the US and have another ticket sale around the time training camp opens and the NFL season hype is building so I wouldnt worry too much yet.

That's good to know. I need me some Falcons-Lions tickets.

Yeah as explained above, they seem to sell the tickets in large batches over several months.

The draft is something I just dont get. Its cool to find out who the new players on your team are going to be but all of this mock draft horseshit and players "stock" dropping and falling just does nothing for me. Im perfectly happy just reading who was drafted where the day after. I seem to be in the minority on this though, people seem to love draft day.

I watched a bit of the build up last night it was quite funny seeing all these huge future NFL players stood with their Mums.

Anyhow lovely bit about the New Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater and his Mum

Congrats to Michael Sam, the only draft story I had any real interest in. Hopefully, he can actually get a roster spot and get on the field next season.

Just watched the Aaron Hernandez arraignment, they have charged him with a double murder from 2012 now as well. Sounds pretty mental, he allegedly shot up a car full of people, killing 2 of them because one of them bumped into him and spilled his drink..

Its a story that keeps getting crazier. Apparently the original double murder case was going cold until the murder of Odin Lloyd and detectives started looking into Hernandez and made links between the two cases, its now alleged that he killed those 2 guys for disrespecting him in a nightclub after they spilled his drink. Utterly bonkers if true!

Yeah they found a car at his cousins, which matches the vehicle used in the drive by, apparently it had been loaned to him by a local dealership, so didn’t show up as being owned by him. The dealership had been trying to get it back, and he had offered to buy it out. Apparently when they found it, it had not left the shed in about a year, and had, had loads of cleaning products used on it before it had been abandoned in the shed.

The thing about the drink is apparently all on camera at the night club, they didn’t think anything of it as Hernandez just left the club after it happened and didn't even confront the guys at the time it happened.

Earlier this year I read "War room" which is about the draft and it followed the Pats, Falcons, and Chiefs through the 2010 draft, both the Pioli @ the Chiefs and Dimitroff @ the Falcons used to work for Belicheck, they were shocked that Belicheck took Hernandez, both of them had black listed him. (This was a book published in 2011 well before anything happened)

Its still going to take about 2 years for all of these trials to be sorted out, the American justice system seems to take a long time with this kind of thing. Both sides want to gather all the evidence they can and formulate a winning argument. I cant see any way he gets off though, unless his lawyers argue he cant have a fair jury trial and then get him off on a technicality with a judge or something like that.

Anyway 99 days to the return of FOOTBALL!!!!

Is anyone else getting the game pass this year? As they did a 10% off reconmendation voucher last year I was wondering if anyone had done it this year yet and if the voucher was still a thing?

July 31st is the renewal date for the Game Pass Plus subscribers and they usually have some kind of offer in June or July so hold off until then.

Heading to the Tampa Bay game vs Carolina on the first day of the season as I will be in Florida for week 1 of the new NFL season :D

Looking forward to seeing an actual live game in the US. Atmosphere is supposed to be unreal.

It is loud! Ive been to Foxboro and Soldier Field, neither noted for being particularly loud but it is a level above anything Ive heard in a stadium here. Its not cheering or chanting, its just random noises when the away team is on offense but its is fantastic to be a part of.

Can't wait

Also have the Wembley trip coming up in October as well which should be a good day out. I miss the NFL so much.

First game of the new season on US TV is Green Bay V Seattle. That'll be class.
