I thought Austin had improved a hell of a lot since he first arrived and had stopped most of his really annoying habits while on the Beastcast. I loved that he was trying to build up the written side of the site which is unfortunately easy to overlook. I just hope whoever replaces him is also able to bring something different to the site. While still appreciating pro wrestling.

Austin definitely grew on me over the last few months, but one thing I'm not going to miss is him interjecting "huh..." every time someone imparts some new information in a podcast.

I liked Austin at GB. The news that he's joining Vice to build their US games coverage is exciting though, Vice Gaming is a great site

A shame about Drew. GB West running on fumes at the moment.

Not sure that's true as Jeff is still the main personality of the site.

Shame that Drew is leaving, has he said where he is going?

Anyway yes West still has Brad and Jeff but giant bomb to me has always been about the large posse. I don't want to be mean about Jason, especially when I'm seeing him get shat all over on GAF by default of drew leaving, but he is still new at the on mic part of things.

Jeff posted on tumblr that they are hiring one body for East and two for West, hope it doesn't take too long.

Yeah, it's always been about the interaction of a group of personalities as opposed to one or two in particular for me. Unfortunately based on how things have gone in the past, I'm guessing it probably won't be till around the end of the year when all three positions are filled. Soon enough for the editorial position in West I imagine since that job listing has been up for a while now.

They've been struggling a lot with all those vacancies. To be honest, they haven't had any premium content that interested me for a good long while so I ended my subscription a while ago. Just wish they could find some new people and get back to making me want to interact with the site more.

Also and yeah I'm a big fanboy but I think they are running on all cylinders this year. They're finally fully staffed and with great folks on both coasts

I think Waypoint have more interesting things to say, but Giant Bomb are a lot more...candid? You better understand what is like to actually be at E3 with their footage.

I still only watch GB stuff on special occasions though, such as E3 or at the end of the year. I find that their stuff is too slapdash to watch year round.

I briefly subbed to premium when I saw they did a playthrough of Mystical Ninja: Staring Goemon because it's one of my favourite games ever. It was that Ben guy playing it so it was boring as strawberry float and they spent most of the time talking about food (surprise, surprise)

I'd agree with that. I only really listen to the podcasts but they're both as good as one another.

Strangely though I don't watch or listen to a lot of the E3 stuff with guests as they often get a lot of very loud people wth annoying laughs.
