It was mental. All the videos with John V in them are worth watching.

His impression of his dad had me in stitches.

Ridiculous that 2/3 were on stage representing their companies at the Sony press conference  JV's change of voice when he realises he strawberry floated up is hilarious.

Another good year of Extra Life, from what I saw. Will be catching up on the bits I missed over the next few weeks.

There's a membership sale on at the moment by the way.

I dunno, the bombcast can sometimes get bogged down in discussions about the merits of various american fast food/restaurant chains that I find tedious, plus i'm not a huge fan of the GBEast team, particularly Austin. They also only seem to get the b-tier quick look stuff.

I always feel bad that Vinny has to go in to work every day with Austin and Alex.

Austin has a few annoying habits but he is improving. I don't think he did the "I think what Alex/Jeff/Vinny is trying to say "thing at all on this weeks beastcast.

Not liking Dan's descent into Destiny. Hopefully Fallout 4 will save him.

I do wish Vinny was on the west coast with Jeff I miss the role playing bits they used to do, but the beast cast is still ace.

They've grown into a good trio so I don't think you need to feel too bad for him.

I miss that too but yeah, the Beastcast is very good. It's great having both podcasts to bookend the week.

I've noticed that just about every week on the GiantBomb podcast Jeff invariably (and quite casually) mentions that he's running some game or other with a CheatEngine (basically a game trainer). This allows the user to activate stuff like 'god mode', 'no clip', 'infinite ammo', etc.

Now, I do this myself quite a bit - I even have a life time membership at CheatHappens. My entire PC library, more or less, can be CheatEngined. I have no issues with this at all. I love to able to breeze through tricky games, difficult bosses, etc.

Just wondered why respected games journalist Jeff Gerstmann never seems to receive any criticism for his use of CheatEngine? Any time I mention that I regularly use it I seem to get hammered by the 'gaming elite' who seem to think I've just murdered a child.

I imagine it's a combination of not having much time to fully experience a game before having to move on to the next new thing for review/impression purposes and being a jaded veteran who has seen it all before and therefore doesn't give a strawberry float about the 'purity' of a game or whatever. Also once you've had your fill of a game it can be fun to strawberry float around with it and do mad gooseberry fool before dropping it for good.

So did anyone actually listen to the 15 hours of GOTY stuff? Listened to first one but man, that's a lot.

Listened to two Giant Beast Casts and stopped. Find them all pretty annoying and its cringe worthy how much they even copy little things the GiantBomb lot do/say.

Yeah I did. An enjoyable mess as always.

How so? The two shows are different enough in format and the interests of the personalities that they complement each other quite well.

I listened to most of it, although I ran out of the ability to care on day 5. If I had a penny for every time Austin said [game X] did/didn't "stick the landing" I'd be a strawberry floating millionaire.

I listened to all of it. Helped that I was off work last week and wasn't doing a whole lot. I don't listen to them every week but I absolutely love these GOTY deliberations, don't always agree but the debate is superb. It's very rare that someone gets genuinely angry. I'm glad Brad didn't try to make a case for The Taken King in the top 10 after last year's shambles.
