Brad is just a fat guy paid to play Dota 2. Unlike Patrick, Alex (both of whom provide 90% of GB's written content at this point) or Jeff, he doesn't write anymore and just pops up occasionally on the Bombcast or a few Quick Looks each week - he has reviewed 2 games in the past 6 months. Any site would have fired him long ago.

He must do something around there though, but everyone else seems to have a role there, and from what I can tell, he doesn't. Aside from being the lazy guy who wants to go to sleep.

No Vinny on the Bombcast or Unprofessional Fridays sounds really bad. Alex and Vinny sounds really good.

Also, the new hires had better be the hottest of gooseberry fool because good godDAMN there's some pressure and expectation to overcome now.

Not really. They just need to be affable and have good chemistry with Brad and Jeff. Then they're on easy street. The least liked members of the team currently (based on impressions of the Giant Bomb community), Alex and Patrick, are the hardest working by far.

I always feel like Alex gets the short end of the stick, being kind of a forgotten member of the team. Hopefully Vinny will bring him to more people's attention

I didn't mean in terms of the actual job capability, bad phrase to use really. They've just got to be perfect, hit the ground sprinting from second one. Otherwise I think the backlash from the community will more than eclipse the Patrick saga.

I think they're all alright but I got realy annoyed by Brad in the GOTY podcasts with his incessant Dota talk.

And I pity the new person joining the Giant Bomb Team. That community has some really weird feelings towards the core group and Patrick is still catching flak even though he is one of the two guys who actually provides regular content.

E3 set is a go.

Dan Ryckert has joined. Used to be with Game Informer and has appeared on stuff a few times. Good news.

There's a new video guy as well but I can't remember his name but he's on the podcast so co listen to that or something.

I've come to see Vinny's move as a positive as it gives him more free reign to pursue whatever silly new features he wants to. I also enjoy Alex so I'm not worried about the pairing.

The two new hires seem like good and much needed additions. When they get up and going along with GB East in the next few weeks, we should get a good idea of the direction the site will be taking in the near future.

I like Dan Ryckert, and Jason Oestreicher seems cool too. Also the way his name is pronounced is awesome, so there's that too. They have very similar voices though, so it might take me a while to differentiate them on the Bombcast. Ah well, I'm just glad they hired some nice experienced people rather than some try-hard young pups.

The internet blew up about the new hires because feminism. All I know is Dan Ryckert is a mark so I expect lots of wrestling game streams plz.
