Hopefully he'll join Polygon and we can just launch that whole thing into the sun.

Yeah, why should they bother putting forth good arguments for games they like? You might not agree with his opinion but his reasons for liking the game were well articulated and totally reasonable.

Why does Alex even bother taking part? He's just there to be super passionate about his opinions on games and then immediately back down at any sign of resistance.

Throughout there were points where Jazzpunk faced a cut. He made sure it reached the top 10.

I almost always skip at least 20 minutes of every GOTY podcast they make and that is usually when Brad is being an annoying twat. It was Dota last year, Destiny this one. I don't even dislike the games, I simply don't like GOTY Brad.

I'm not talking about just the Day 5 podcast, but throughout. He basically folded at every turn and even for bloody jazzpunk was ready to throw Dan and Mk8 under the bus rather than just arguing for the damn game.

Brad is just a fat, lazy waste of space at this point and it all started when DOTA ruined him. The only games he fought for were Destiny and Divinity, the latter of which he admits that he only finished the first act. This tells you that his fervor for Destiny actually just points to the fact that most of the year playing DOTA 2 - which of course he named his GOTY 2014.

The guy reviewed four games last year - Alex reviewed 15 and was part of a twice-weekly podcast and a monthly wrestling podcast. What else did Brad actually do? He gave up on the Daily Dota in May. I don't see how people defend Brad at this point, he's just stealing a living.

What an absurd thing to say. How can you possibly make that accusation as an outsider? None of us can really know how much work each of them put in looking at it from the outside as it isn't necessarily reflective of how much content appears on the site. His main priority is the podcast. He's been in plenty of quick looks and UPF. The only thing I'll say against him is that he needs to have his own premium series since Breaking Brad and Daily DOTA fell by the wayside.

And come on, the fact that he's overweight is irrelevant. That's just some hateful gooseberry fool.

I don't think it's irrelevant. He told many stories on the Bombcast about literally spending entire weekends playing DOTA and his obsession with the game ruined his weight and judging by his output pre- and post-DOTA, affected his work ethic too. *Why* did Breaking Brad and Daily DOTA fall by the wayside? How long did the Brothers review take him? It's not inconceivable that Jeff etc know that Brad has merited enough goodwill to get away with it, but output - from what is measurable - is shockingly low compared to the rest.

I think that's a bit of leap to assume DOTA is solely responsible for his weight gain.

Anyway, yes he needs to do more on the premium side but saying he doesn't deserve his job any more is hyperbolic to say the least.

Kotaku has actually been a hell of a lot better since Brian Crecente strawberry floated off to Polygon with all those other banana splits.

At least there's no podcast there for him to ruin.

I've just got through the cutting Destiny discussion and it almost felt a bit like Vinny let Destiny get on the list because of his experience of Brads stubbornness in past GOTY discussions. Four people at the table seemed to actively dislike Destiny, Jeff seemed lukewarm on it while Drew and Vinny seemed utterly indifferent. Even though he didn't say much about it I think Drews lack of interest in Destiny says a lot when you consider what the fact he is a Halo nut.

I get that Brad really liked Destiny and in terms of representing GiantBombs collective top ten it probably deserves to place but it's also the one game in the top ten that never sounded appealing to me during the podcast. Fair play to Dan for getting Mario Kart in the top ten though.
