Right, my s7 appears to be killing micro sd cards.

The last one failed, so I got a new one and took my smaller capacity one out of the switch and put it in the phone. Today I went to listen to some music and found the player empty. Now the sd card isn't being detected which is exactly what happened with the last one.

Time for a new phone I think.

Try a factory reset if you haven't done one for a while it can do wonders.

Anyone tried Google's new "AI" Google News app?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... s&hl=en_GB

Taken quite a while to get rid of the royal wedding stories by constantly pressing "Fewer stories like this".

I've added some favourites and this is quite interesting, two of them are "World Cup" and "Stoke City", and one of my top articles is an article from today naming Stoke players in World Cup squads which is pretty impressive.

It'd be impressive if Google Assistant could read out headlines to me every morning based on my interests.

I wouldn't touch a Samsung.

Samsungs do have glass backs, the only series in the UK that doesnt is the J series. A (A3, A5 and A8), S (S6 and onwards) and N (Note 5 and onward) are all with a glass back.

It's absolutely glass on the s8, it needs it for wireless charging.

I'll conceed it is glass but it isn't needed for wireless charging. The Lumia 920 was polycarbonate as was the charge case got the 1020 and basically all Lumias and they had wireless charge.

I found a super radical "hack" for my S8 that means I no longer care about the glass back:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-ikalul ... lectronics

Also, I did like the casual dismissing of Samsung back there, like they aren't the makers of one of the best Andoid phones out there. Don't get me wrong, they're a huge corporation towards which I feel zero loyalty but the Galaxy phones garner consistently excellent reviews for a reason.

I have just downloaded it on the iPhone and it seems pretty good, I like how it gives you local news stories and I will be using it along with Apple news and the daily mail app

I looked at the LED cover, but I opted for the clearview cover in the end since it allows you to control music and Youtube through the cover without needing to even open it, let alone turn on the screen and lets you answer/end calls without opening the cover too.

You can control music with the LED, the LED panel is touch sensitive so you can pause, next and back as well as answer / reject calls and turn off alarms and things.

Now I had the Samsung LED cover for my S7 Edge and it died within 2 weeks. I think wireless charging killed it.

I have this one for my S9+ which gives me controls on the screen when closed (answering calls, controlling music, viewing AOD)
