I had a go of a demo unit in a shop yesterday and that finally sold me on upgrading from my Nexus 6P. Had been umming and ahhing before, but actually having a go of one made me want it too much.
Plus this way for barely more than the price of buying it outright I get the newest one every year. The only downside is I have to give back the old one to get the new upgrade after 12 months.

Moto Z with Speaker Mod available for £299.99 again this time at Carphone Warehouse...

https://www.carphonewarehouse.com/motor ... ealType=pm

Was going to hold off on upgrading from my (fixed) LG G4, but at that price I think I'm going to go with it. Anyone who's got one got anything bad to say about it?

I ordered one last time but my transaction was cancelled (cheers Natwest), and by the time I went to order again they'd sold out. I've kind of lost my enthusiasm for the phone now, gonna hold on for something else unless they knock another £50 off it.

Can't argue with the spec for the price though.

Funny because I'm with Natwest and they've done exactly the same to me.

Seems like its still available though so I'm going to try and order it again (or sort my original order out, don't really want two of them).

Well I'd be really interested in your impressions if you do get one sorted, it's a phone I've had my eye on since it launched. If the price dropped again I'd probably be tempted, I've no interest in the speaker add-on.

The S8+ is truly a thing of beauty to hold in my hands
Definitely needs a case though, it's the slippiest thing in existence without one.

Comparison shot next to my Nexus 6P. Keep in mind that the S8+ screen is a half inch bigger than the screen on the 6P,

I'm thinking i may go LG G6 as my next one, or an S8 depends how much i have when it is renew time i guess.

I'm 100% on these no edge curved corner screens they seem odd and I can't quite decide if i like it or not.
If I want to get kodi am I best to just buy a fire stick or should I get an android tv box?
Hi. It depends what you're looking.
I would recommend a fire stick if you have a prime account, so you could have the best of the 2 worlds. To install it is pretty easy, here's the best installation guide that I found https://www.bestdroidplayer.co.uk/xbmc- ... k-fire-tv/

If you don't have a prime account, I would go for an Android TV Box really. You can get better hardware and thats important if you want to stream High quality streams and play games.

I think the battery on my One Plus One is coming to the end of its useful life. Think I might go for a OnePlus 5 which should be announced shortly or OPO 3T if the 5 is ridiculously priced.

Anyone else got the 5 in their sights?

I have the OP3 so depending on price might jump on the OP5.

It has the new Snapdragon 835 and rumoured to have dual flash on the back.

Ill probably sell the OP2 I have and pass down the OP3 to my fiancee.

I'm looking to get a new phone, but don't want to break the bank.

I currently have a Nexus 5, bit it's aging and has a crack on the screen. Ideally I'm looking for something £250 or less, so far the best seems to be Moto G5. Has anyone used this? Or any other recommendations?

Good choice but worth waiting to see OP5 phone details and also worthy of considering would be OP3T if prices go down because of the new release.

Moto Z is available for cheap again, direct from Motorolla website with codes ZUKSUMMER and UKWELCOME10 which make it £289 with Free JBL Speaker Mod and a free extra Style Shell (I'd recommend one of the wooden ones).

OnePlus 5 is being revealed tomorrow and I think there's a decent chance I'll buy it to replace my second generation Moto X. I'm hoping it'll end up being around £450 rather than approaching £500, especially as the extra fast charging plugs and cases will push towards that region anyway.

Looking back, I kind of regret spending £460 on the Moto X. It was quite a leap from a £280 Nexus 4 less than two years prior, and there's no way I can justify spending even more than that now.

£449 for 64GB and 6GB of RAM, £499 for 128GB and 8GB of RAM.

Screen stays exactly the same as the OnePlus 3T it looks like, so you're only really getting a newer CPU and dual camera for the extra £50 or so.

Not sure I'll bother to be honest. That's a lot of money. :?

I don't think I want to spend £449 on a phone. The recent factory reset seems to have fixed the battery issues on my OPO and also a Bluetooth issue I was having so looks like I'll be making do with it until OP6. Can you still buy the 3 and 3T from the site? 3T seemed to say something about Vodafone and I couldn't even see a price for the 3.

You can't buy the older models off the official site anymore, no.

OP5 doesn't even seem to have water resistance like a bunch of newish flagship phones do.

EDIT - Are there any decent alternatives out there, preferably in the £300-£400 range?
