Nokia are worth giving a look, all stock Android with no bloatware.

I have a One Plus 3T and it's the best phone I've ever had. It's still super quick.

I think the latest one has been getting great reviews.

How much do you want to spend? Are you getting it as part of a contract?

I have the OP5 which is a pretty decent phone with good specs.

It does seem like a nice phone with solid reviews. Not a huge fan of the design though.

Interesting, I hadn't even thought of Nokia. I assumed they had either died out completely or were still doing Windows phone stuff. I'll have a look at what they've got to offer.

Contract, I've been used to spending £30-£40 a month to get a decent phone and plan so something in that range again would be nice. Ideally with either unlimited data or at least a lot of it - been burned with low data limits in the past.

The OnePlus stuff does look nice - aren't they on some "invite only" sales model though?

They did.

A chinese company bought the rights to the name when M'soft binned off windows phone after buying up the Lumia divisions.

Nokia 7 seems like a decent phone for the money.

That was for the original phoned. The 5T is available directly or contract through O2.

This trend of removing the headphone socket is a strawberry floating awful trend that no one wanted. Seems like only Samsung have decided to keep it. Ridiculous that it's become a USP.

I haven't ever used the headphone jack on my current or previous phone.

+1 for One Plus. Ive always wanted as pure an Android experience as possible so I loved the Nexus phones but the 3T is the best phone Ive owned.

I use the headphone jack on my phone pretty much daily. I (stupidly) bought a phone without one and using a dongle makes the sound quality absolute gooseberry fool. Won't be making that mistake again.

I have the OnePlus 5t and it's great. The software is so close to stock Android that I only had to relearn two gestures compared to my Nexus 6P.

I've yet to see a single good reason for not having a headphone jack so balls to any manufacturer dropping it.

The OnePlus is getting a lot of love in here so I'm going to give that a good look over. What's the battery life like? My S7 is strawberry floating terrible in that regard!

Conveniently it's also got £100 off on the Google store at the minute.

I think this is something only you can compare across phones as it obviously depends on each individual's usage. My previous phone was a OPO but the battery was deteriorating and I was only getting one day of use for each charge and that was actually the main reason I changed phone. On the OP5 as a fairly light user I get a minimum of 2 days, normally 3 days between charges with an on screen time of around 4 hours.

Just pre-ordered an S9+ to replace my S8+

Went into town today to see what phones I could have a play with in the shops. Couldn't see the Pixel 2 anywhere which was a shame as I really wanted to see what that felt like in the flesh - it's hard to get a feel for how imposing bezels are from photos.

Had a quick play with the OnePlus 5t, really nice looking bit of kit, but it still suffers badly from one of my absolute worst bugbears as far as Android is considered: input lag. I still can't believe that this hasn't been fixed from the ground up in Android yet. The only Android phones I've found that have managed to minimise this to any real extent are the Samsung's - but even there it's still noticeable.

Basically I'm still none the wiser as to what to get next!

I'm on the Samsung Upgrade Program so I get an upgrade every year.

Why?
I will only upgrade to 10, if the screen is better.

By the way guys, the S8 is a great phone. Don't be afraid to buy it, now the price is coming down.
