I thought my phone had switched to the sense browser. The refresh button is really useful for poor reception.

Yeah I made use of that quite a lot, seems a really odd change to make.

I do like the cleaner look, but I'd rather have the button back.

New chrome looks gooseberry fool. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not used to it, the lack of ax refresh button is getting on my tits though

It also has a memory leak, on my Xperia Z1 when I try to download an APK it just loads new browser windows until my phone crashes.

I'm really not sure what to do about my phone now.

I was thinking 3 for their monthly payments but I see someone mentioned 3G is a little spotty in London?

I assume those using the cheap sims do it monthly, and not for a year? I guess if it's gooseberry fool I can always change right? :\

I just want to leave T-Mobile as they are awful in London too.

Just had a look at GiffGaff and it says if you go over 20MB a day you get charged...even on Unlimited internet? I was hoping to be able to use stuff like Spotify or even a video if I'm bored on a commute. So surely that's going to be way more than 20mb.

Are Three actually unlimited?

They are. If you're in one of their Feel At Home destinations then it's 25GB.

Ah I think I misread and was looking at the general price of data, not in a package.

So those in London, who would you recommend if you have used both? GiffGaff or Three? Similar? I'm going to get the cheapest possible that has unlimited data as I barely use my phone for texts/calls.

A few probably stupid questions incoming (bare with me, I've been in airport for pretty much a whole day :dread: )

With the monthly sims from Three/giffgaff etc, can I leave whenever? If it's gooseberry fool, can I just cancel it? It doesn't appear to be any kind of contract as it's just the 1 month deal.

If that is the case, am I able to get a PAC code back from Giffgaff/three, after giving them the one I (hopefully) get from EE?

I heard 3 were very patchy but since moving to them im very happy and things like the 4g upgrade were great. I'd recommend them!

I've used both Giffgaff and 3 in London.

Giffgaff has wider 4G coverage in south London, it's also faster too - probably the fastest 4G in the UK, I've got 36mb download 19mb upload. However it only offers 1GB on the 4G trial goodybag. On 4G you will use it quickly.

3 costs more and is slower with probably weaker indoor data signals but it's got unlimited data so no rationing over watching a YouTube video etc, plus the Feel At Home deal is pretty great. Speeds are very variable. Central London about 20mb download but zone 2 and 3 is anywhere from 14mb to 1 or 2mb when not in 4G areas which is a larger area than Giffgaff non 4G areas.

Giffgaff is essentially Pay as You Go. The Goodybags are top up credit effectively. There is no contract with them.

The cheapest unlimited data packages with 3 are 12 month SIM only contracts, they have pretty much the same contracts but as 1 month rolling contracts for about £3 more.

Giffgaff currently have unlimited 3G data for £12 but it's being eliminated.

So does that mean with Three that the 1 month option SIM is a contract? They had the option of 12 months or 1 month. I took that to mean I could just keep paying a month without being stuck in a year long contract?

Ones I am looking at (now that you mentioned the £12 one being stopped) are:

and
