Missus' birthday present. I've got till tomorrow to decide. :dread:

The safe bet is the LG. If the OPO goes wrong it can be difficult getting it returned and fixed, taking several weeks. The only real advantage the L3 has over the OPO is the screen resolution. I would say if you need that and peace of mind over warranty, go for that.

If you are more of a phone enthusiast then go for the OPO. I have an OPO and recently bought one for my daughter to replace her Sony Xperia Z so if you have any questions, I may have the answers!

The other issue with the One Plus One is that it doesn't support the 4G band used by all the networks bar EE and Three (and on Three part of the 4G signal is on a band not supported by the phone).

Basically it means that in the UK the OPO is not a fully functioning 4G phone on any network other than EE. And its a hardware issue that can't be fixed by any software update.

True, but I don't have 4G on my current rolling contract so not an issue for me. If it is, just need to move to '3' or ee. The OPO does have a better front facing camera, more storage space and slightly bigger capacity battery than the LG3 (which will probably be more evident due to the power needed by the LG3 for its higher resolution display).

Updating to Lollipop on HTC One over EE now. Hopefully doesn't break my phone like it seems to have done for everyone on Nexus devices.

Always seems to get stuck booting whenever I do this, have to restart one or two times before "Android is upgrading" kicks in. Annoying because every time that happens I'm :dread: whether my phone is going to work, I need it for work.

It did this when I updated my phone but just froze once before updating my apps no issues since then.

Went for the OPO. Missus is on PAYG anyway and doesn't use data, just wifi. Couldn't ignore the differences in storage size.

Just updated my S5 to Lollipop what a strawberry floating mess it is. And now in the process of trying to downgrade it.

Apps crashing left right and center, battery draining, plus Google thought its a great idea to remove the option to silence your phone. I can either have sound or vibrate not None which I heavily use. What a epic strawberry float up.

Next patch will bring the mute feature back and a load of fixes however no release details yet. Oh and the S4 on vodafone has the update for lollipop as well apparently. Like hell I would download that.

Word of warning. I tried to encrypt my Moto G2 phone after lollipop update and it caused the main OS to constantly crash. Had to factory reset and restore.

I reset the firmware and unfortunately had to do a full reset :( Although it is far faster than it was before.

It looks like the Nexus Player and Android TV will be launching in the UK on the 26th of March. I wonder what apps will be available at launch? Sky Go?

Oh man Android 5.1 is so much better than Android 5.0. I seriously contemplated going back to Android 4.4 as it made my Nexus 5 feel so much slower. Performance is now what I expect from the Nexus 5.

Youtube app update has broken "always play in highest quality." :dread: 144p. :dread: Pain in the arse changing quality to 1080P (although I think it still only plays in 720P on Android), it doesn't often acknowledge the change and when it does it doesn't often change quickly enough.

I'm looking to get an Android for both myself and my mum. I've got a good sim package prepared, but wondering what iteration of the Galaxy to go for? The S5 is far too expensive and I'm looking at the S4. Is it a decent phone, or would it be better to go cheaper and go for the mini?
