Nope, from a company called Domines, but fulfilled by Amazon.

If you've got Prime you'll get it on Tuesday if you order now.

Good point, probably worth considering if you might use the gaming aspects of it...screen is a turn off though compared to either the Samsung or Nexus tablets.

Not looked at that yet actually.

Was planning on it but now will not be upgrading my Nexus 5. Screen sizes are getting ridiculous now.

My phone is due an upgrade and EE don't seem to too much on offer for around £20 per month.

Is there any real stand out problems if I got a Nexus 5 (probably 16gb as I still have an iPod for music) and then the £12 giffgaff deal (500mins, unlimited texts and 3gb data).

If I use that as a 24 month plan it works out as spending £23 a month I believe (dividing cost of phone and adding the monthly giffgaff charge).

Are giffgaff good? And is it 3g or 4g with them?

There is nothing wrong with the Nexus 5. It's still an incredibly high spec phone and when you compare the purchase price with rivals (GS5, HTC One M8 etc), there's several hundred pounds difference. As such on price:performance it has no rival.

Giffgaff use O2's network which I always found to be very good in South London. Their 4G coverage is both very fast and covers most of London. The goodybag deal you refer to currently does not offer 4G.

Thanks, do any of their goody bags have 4g? Couldn't see on the ones I saw. Good to hear the network is good as I'll be in London most of the time.

Also how does giffgaff work if I go abroad for internet and calls etc?

My other option is probably stay with EE and get a galaxy S4 mini for about the same price per month on a 24minth contract.

Never really had a top line phone so the nexus 5 is more tempting at the moment.

I've had GG just under a month and already the coverage in London is vastly superior to EE. 3G seems good too. At times slow but same with any other network I suppose. On the whole though it's great and for £10 a month? Bargain.

Caved and got a Note 4 on Saturday. Loving it so far, the screen is amazing and whilst I was a bit worried by the larger size it's fine, fits in pocket fine and is surprisingly light for its size.

The s-pen stuff works pretty well and can see it being genuinely useful at times. Great camera too and keep finding more little features - the download boost in particular is a great feature i'm amazed other companies don't use (or if they do, I've not come across it) - lets the phone use your 3G/4G and wifi at the same time to boost download speeds by maxing out both connections.. apps download so quick with it enabled

Tempted to get a Tesco Hudl 2 now. Reviews are very positive for it and seems to be a good rival to Nexus 7.

Problems seem to be it's battery life and the TESCO branded launcher.

My Gf got one cheap since she works for Tesco and the screen is lovely on it, and Tesco haven't changed Android that much actually. I really quite like it.

Got myself a chromecast today in preparation for the second hand TV I'm about to buy. Any recommendations of apps apart from netflix, iplayer and plex?

Getting a replacement Z3 Compact from Amazon, can't deal with Netflix not working on it and reading reports of it being fine on other peoples ones. I also dropped it :shifty:

Holy gooseberry fool my phone works. I am so strawberry floating happy right now.

I can type and the letters don't take 5 seconds to appear on the screen. I can hear my phone without pressing my ear against the earpiece. You literally can't see the pixels on the htc one, it's like seeing everything with new eyes again and the screen seems massive.

It's like having a brand new phone all over again. :)

I do a lot of day to day business stuff on my phone so this is a huge relief.

So yeah. If you drop your phone in the toilet, even if it doesn't have a removable battery, vacuum the entry points to pull out droplets and then submerge in rice in airtight sealed tupperware. I also had some silica gel sachets I'd kept from shoes and stuff, put them where the speaker grills are and the power /headphone socket. Took 2 weeks for mine to dry out.

It probably also helps to have a decent case that plugs all the sockets.

Also don't use your phone near bowls of water

Yeah.. I'm keeping it in my pocket anyway near water from this day forward..

On an unrelated note, I've found a mint boxed 16GB 2013 Nexus 7 I'm CeX for 134 quid. I can trade in Ipad 2 16GB (hate iOS) for 145 credit. Seems like such a better device for the money and I can't be bothered screwing around with selling the Ipad 2 to Joe public and finding a nexus 7 in decent nick.

I won the Ipad 2 in a raffle so I make 10 quid profit. Any reason for me to reconsider?

Not interested in Samsung devices, don't like the look, and want stock Android experience. Also I'd rather have a mint device in my hands than the 32gb that, while only 10 quid more at cex, they don't have one and I don't use my devices for media at all (and my HTC one is 32gb for music). Seems like a good opportunity to pick one up mint and no hassle selling Ipad 2 to idiots on eBay.

I've survived the pre-order nightmare and put down about £290 on a OnePlus One. According to the details on the site, should be getting this in 3-4 weeks. I don't think anyone on the forum has managed to get hold of one of these bad boys so I'll be the first to sing its praises or complain about it. For anyone who has never heard of it, it is a quad code 2.5Ghz, 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. It can compete with the S5, but obviously has a much lower price. The really interesting thing about it is that it comes with CyanogenMod 11S rather than stock Android and updates are available OTA. For anyone interested in finding out more, check the review here -> http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones ... 307/review

Friend has just got his very nice bit of kit really well finished and very snappy although he's not that impressed with the camera. He does say the battery is very good.

He should check out the forums, very active and helpful. The recommendations are to try a different camera as it seems to be the app rather than the actual hardware.

I'm also concerned about this, but I've read that you need to give it some time. One day probably isn't enough.
