Sooooo, my phone contract is up in 2 weeks, what phone should I be looking at? I have a Nexus 6P.

I would keep the 6P. Mine is great and I have zero desire to upgrade.

Otherwise the new Pixel is rumoured to be announced/released on the 4th of October.

So Oreo has strawberry floated my 5x, what phone should I get to replace it? Don't know if I can be arsed with a Google one again with the gooseberry fool they pull.

I decided to stick with the Nexus 6p and just get a cheaper contract.

Is anyone else finding that their battery is going down quickly since the last update? Also, Netflix doesn't work anymore.

Any idea?

Just downloaded the latest update on my 1+. Network speed on the status bar is a nice new feature, and automatic night mode to coincide with sunset/sunrise.

I changed the battery icon to the circular pie chart symbol.

Nexus 6P on Android Oreo is definitely draining the battery faster than before the update. Netflix works for me, but iPlayer doesn't unless connected to WiFi. Won't even play offline download videos unless connected to WiFi.

Netflix has started pausing the video indefinitely while the audio keeps going. Not sure if it's an Oreo thing or a Netflix thing as I hadn't used the app for ages until now.

My 6P battery is maybe a bit worse, but I'm on my phone less these days so I don't really notice it. Still super happy with this phone, can't see myself upgrading for a long while.

Posting from my new Samsung S8 :datass:

Bought it outright off Amazon brand new for £170 less than the RRP of £689. Couldn't wait to get rid of my LG G3 which at almost 3 yrs old was doing my head in with its ultra slow response and gooseberry fool battery life (lose 20% for 20 mins web browsing or Facebook!).

Sorted out a new nano SIM today and upgraded from my SO deal of £18 for 2gb to 20Gb for just £21/mth. 4g will be permanently on from now on instead of having to switch it off every time i left a Wi-Fi zone to save battery life.

Love the ease of setting it using my Google a/c and the data transfer from old phone to new phone using a cable was straightforward.

Technology

I like the look of the LG V30, ticks practically every box I want except for having a pricetag of £800.

£800! I just want a good non-Samsung phone that doesn't cost the Earth.

I've picked up the Moto G5s plus and it's pretty good for a reasonable price

Having just left LG I'd advise you to steer clear. I had 3 batteries and a new motherboard in less than 3 yrs and I'm not anywhere near a heavy user. Piece of gooseberry fool
