Well I'm not actually having my phone till the end of the month (it's a birthday present) but if you can wait that long I'll happily feed back anything you want me to check out. :)

Got myself an S7 Edge yesterday. Any recommendations on essential apps? Been an iPhone user the past 8 years.

It turned up today! :toot:

Thought I was going to get murdered by customs, had a snotty note from DHL asking for proof of purchase (I'd asked for it to be marked down on the envelope). So reluctantly I forwarded my invoice expecting a charge and they just released it. :)

I saw the 32GB Mi 5 yesterday for £180. Still undecided on which to buy or whether to stick with the OPO.

Ok. Bit of an impulse buy but I went with the OnePlus 5. Picked it up for about £375.

I'm thinking of getting one of these.

Did you get any of the Moto add on things?

Just remember dialing 911 in some cases can restart the phone.

Can anyone recommend a good power bank or something similar ?

Have a fair bit of travel coming up where I won't be able to charge my phone using my wall charger.

Also do Bluetooth headset for mobiles have a big impact on battery life ?

I need a new headset for podcasts and music while travelling and was looking for recommendations.

Thanks :)

Is it any good and how did you get it at that price?

My family have quite a few Powerbanks and they can be very hit and miss. One thing we've noticed is that most do not provide the stated power, normally about 60-80% of what it should be. For some, the battery life deteriorates quite quickly which means over a year or two, the maximum power reduces further.

I suggest you buy from Amazon and only look at the ones sold by Amazon as they are likely to be the better ones.

As for Bluetooth, I thought that from v3 or so power usage was quite drastically reduced so this shouldn't be too much of a drain.

I'm in Malaysia so am able to pick up the non UK model. Not sure which market the one I've got was aimed for and although I opened the box and tested it before taking it away, I forgot that Google services are disabled in China. Fortunately when I started setting it up last night Google was installed so this was not the model for the Chinese market. The downside to my £75 saving is that I don't have a warranty with OP but based on my experience of the two OPOs we have, hopefully I'll have 2 or 3 years of trouble free usage.

I've not done much with the phone yet (just installed some apps etc) and will be using the OPO as my main phone until I'm back in the UK, but so far I've noticed apps seem to install very fast compared to the OPO and the Oxygen OS looks very good and from what I've seen of it so far, I won't need to use a 3rd party launcher as it has all of the features I like in Nova plus more.

From the little I used it last night, it only used up about 5% battery for one hour of screen time so that seems very promising. Charging it up now as I can see there is an update ready to be downloaded.

Anything by Anker will be great as a power bank they are awesome.

Headsets and Bluetooth things barely touch battery now BT is low energy, it's how smart watches can be a thing as they all use Bluetooth and if it killed battery like the old days they would be useless.
