I decided to check my Google photos after everyone else here was. I must be so god damned smart, as there isn't a single upload. 8-)

If you want to scare yourself then go to your myaccount.google.com/dashboard :dread:

Everything you have every let google know about you, even your voice recordings from "Okay Google" (double :dread: )

Fake Edit: What I will say in Google's defence is that the Dashboard is very easy to navigate, delete your history, and modify what your account can/can't do controls. Just deleted all the voice recordings where I accidentally presses the "Okay Google" button or where an advert triggered it :slol:

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

Rushed home to take my break there while waiting for DPD to deliver the phone. Left it charging and restoring from my Samsung backup while I'm rushing back to work but boy what a lovely screen, will be a nice upgrade from the 7 Edge. Hopefully my case arrives today, wouldn't want to take it out without one.

So after 3 days use it's completely dead. Put it on charge last night when I went to bed as I've done with every other phone I've had and woke up and noticed it was off and no charging LED and won't turn on. Tried the Vol - + Power button trick but no joy :dread:

Good.

Compared to some other manufacturers their attitude to the OS and software updates is spot on. They are a very easy brand to recommend.

I had a V66 for ages. It was absolutely strawberry floating dreadful. :fp:

This gave me a giggle though, whilst searching out to make sure I had the right model number for that phone I stumbled across this old review of it on CNET. Times change.

I'm at the end of my contract next month and having a look at new phones the monthly price has really jumped up, hasn't it? Watching a few videos and the difference between my S7 edge and the latest phones looks so minimal that I'm not sure if I will the the plunge, I could give it a year and get myself a nice tablet or some headphones with the saving.

I am considering jumping to the IPhone X but well over £70+ and I like my screen really big is putting me off. That and O2 are offering huge data bundles with the S9.

Does anyone have a Huawei phone? I had my mind made up on an S9+ but a pair of QC35's for preordering a P20 pro is mighty tempting.

My mum, mother in law, and wife are all Huawei phones, the muvvs has P9 Lites and the wife a p10 they are very nicely made and work very well. Launcher is pretty custom though so if you want a stock android experience you wont get it with them.

Had the p8 and a honor 5c as Errkal said the launcher isn't stock and takes a little while to get used to but they update often and are very well made. I might have a good look at the p20 range when I update as my phone is on it last legs.

Do people tend to stick with the launcher that comes with their handset then? I can't remember the last time I used an Android phone and didn't replace the Launcher with an alternative - currently using the Pixel Launcher on my S9.

I've used the Nova launcher before and currently testing out the Lean launcher.

Yeah Nova has been a solid choice for years now, I tend to stick with it myself. I do like the Pixel launcher though - it may not have some of the features I like but it's a very nice looking launcher.

Had my S9 for a couple of weeks now, absolutely loving it - was worried about the curved screen at first but now I actually really like it. Would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking at a new Android handset. Just make sure you disable the dreaded Bixby button straight away!
