Zone Control and Old Blaggers.

If you have trouble on Zone Control, what I did was take the route that goes downwards from your spawn point and tag the zone there, pick up the SPB-50 (or the plasma autorifle on the left of the entrance to the downhill ramp that will take you to this zone) and the speed pick up. Go left then turn right into the enemy's spawn point and tag that base. From that zone go into the main area and try to tag that zone and kill any bots but as soon as you see any going back to claim the zone in their spawn point, go back and spend the rest of the game defending that zone while spawn killing all the bots. This should allow the rest of your team to get the other zones and keep them with little trouble from the enemy if you kill them quick enough. Plat is 35 points in 2:45.

Old blaggers is simply a case of learning a way to and from the enemy's bag to your own and a little luck that keeps your bag in your base when you return. I learnt two ways, one coming out on each side of the bag. The last bag was the funniest, a bot on my team too their bag and as I shot the enemy to protect him, he came round the corner and I shot him in him face! Luckily I picked up the bag and managed to run back to our base to get the 5th bag tag for the plat.

And yeah, I was hoping someone would get the acronym. ¬_¬

Yeah, he played lots of TS2 and I think he had TS3 for a while. I know for definite he's played it because he thought he was pro on Big Game Hunt until I showed him Dubovsky and co.

It would be in an evening and I guess a bit of morning.

I'd say 17

2:43.5

That's a bloody hard one but the weapons make it slightly fun. Well it's at least a dam sight more than Astro Jocks! That's pretty much the same but on Spaceport with only Dispersion guns and Plasma grenades.

:D

I checked after Nobby Peters died and the last two had two lives remaining each. They lost a life each to mines somewhere along the way, and I used the Heatseeker for the last two kills.

ST says it's easily the toughest plat in the game so I'm very happy!

I dunno, I'd give that title to Astro Jocks. Had trouble with Ninja Garden last night but I managed to do Queen of Heart this morning.

Is that the one where you are in the space level and you have to kill the enemies to open the doors, get the Time Crystal and get back to the portal? I had a little trouble with that one but clocked it within half an hour or so. :D

I might get the chance to play Astro Donks tonight if I make any progress with my friend. He'll be doing a lot of playing too so I'm not sure how far I'll get!

Yep, that's the one. I had trouble finding the crystal the first time til I realised I needed to kill everyone to get the doors to open and then I died a couple of times where the Spaceship is. I finished once just under 2 seconds over 2 minutes but then soon after that got the plat - it's not too bad when you get the hang of it.

Great progress there Drummy, you'll be passing me by soon. :P

Almost done arcade. Just RITFJ and AC to go. Challenge is "ok". I've done no behead the davedread ones, 2 of the cut out ones (hate the high water one), curling, off his rocker, can't jump, and all of the potty, old style, cat driving ones.

Back. He got one plat as he decided after getting Brain Drain (first attempt too) that he couldn't be bothered so we just had a multiplayer session. I did make some progress however!

Brain Drain - Platinum - I died on 32k on an earlier run... it took me God knows many many extra attempts to do it. All I can say is I really dislike these ones and tend to suck at them. Took me maybe an hour and a half before I got it.

I Like Dead People - Platinum - I hate this level. Stupidly small characters in confined dark spaces do not a good challenge make. I thought the mark was going to be 40 kills as I got 35 and got gold, I got 38 earlier and got plat. Ho hum.

Haven't attempted Lip Up Butty yet, concentrating on ZZ, where I found a strat which worked for me, and pulled in a 17 on a relatively poor go. The level is gooseberry fool. All the rooms look basically the same and for the Gladiator type mode it's far too big.

I just realised I forgot to include the Electro Chimp Discomatic in that last update, which actually makes my stats:

I'm closing in on you, DD!

I tried that level the other day but failed miserably at it. I've given up on the arcade as the only ones left for me (I think) are Ninja Garden and Astro Jocks, so I'll go back to them at the end. I may give the challenges another go later tonight.

Heh, that was a productive 25-minute spell. I got 29 on Zany Zeppelin, after realising the Max Damage power up was my biggest ally. I spent most of the run jostling around the room it's located in, but I got a massive boost when no less than six people were battling it out right next to each other in that small dark red room. I threw a a couple of grenades in and voila, +5 to my score. After that I headed to the top of the level and set some mines on the uphill ramp while going to get the body armour up there. Managed to hold them of for a while until a cluster of them were gathered and I nuked them.

I then moved onto Lip Up Butty. I was a little disappointed to get plat on my very first play through the level with 3:35 but it was fun nonetheless. I played it through once more to improve my time and got a 2:06. I was really hoping it'd be a tight time like Virtual Brutality which I actually found a challenging, and I'd constantly have to modify my strategy to attain the platinum time. Instead I just legged it, picking up the health and the body armour where necessary. Ho hum.

I found the max damage to be useful when I accidentally picked it up on my first try of Zany Zeppelin (not including those attempts from before this revival cycle) and the pistols had a better effect (naturally). Quite a lucky discovery that was :P Though I could never remember where the body armour was

I'd been playing the Mars Prison map in assault mode quite a bit before I moved to doing Lip Up Butty so I think that's why I managed to do that one quite quickly. Though it was a hell of a lot easier than Virtual Brutality so I think it's just a good map. Virtual Brutality is...brutal ;)

Well done!

So, RITFJ is now officially the hardest given as that strat ostensibly makes Astro Donks a piece of piss, not that I'm trivialising your accomplishment! :D

I think the only one I'm worried about now is Come Hell or High Water. Particularly as I suck at it. 1725 at present is my best.
