New thread to mark the settling of the McLaren drivers line up. So, Alonso and Button, what can they hope to achieve in 2015 with Mclaren Honda?

I imagine not a lot. They had the same engine that won this year and were crap. Their issues are bigger than the engine.

Remember, if you are buying tickets be sure to use the circuit's official website instead of Formula1.com or other resellers to get the best price.

The "word" out of the factory is that their simulations show vast improvement over the 2014 car, apparently.

I have to ask myself if Alonso would have won in this years car. My feeling is that he probably would have faired better in it than he did with the Ferrari.

I think you probably should give up on motorsport. You seem perpetually bored in season, and now you are bored off season!

I really hope at least one team can match Mercedes next season. How incredible would it be to have the likes of Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Williams all battling with the Mercedes drivers for wins?

:(

That would be amazing. Of all of them I'd like to see Williams properly back as a force, they've been away too long.

True. Would be great to see Bottas do well.

I wonder how McLaren are going to get on. To be honest, I really doubt how much of an influence the drivers have on car development but, if they do even have a small influence, I don't think Button and Alonso are going to work in their favour; neither driver has a track record of developing cars, in my view (look at how Button apparently led McLaren down a blind alley in 2012), and they both have very different driving styles.

Hmmm.
