Aside from the deadly dull racing itself, I do think the lack of races on BBC has contributed to my lack of interest.

For me, F1 doesn't work in highlights form. You can't build a sense of the race developing. I really don't enjoy it.

F1 is broken, and soon, very few people will be watching. Such a shame.

There will be a reboot in 20 years, guns on cars and audience participation. :datass:

I wouldn't say it's broken but meh races have been the status quo for far too long and Bernie is a strawberry floating crook that should have been ejected years ago.

captain red dog wrote:I just got the impression that nobody could really be bothered as everything is largely settled now in terms of the championship. This is easily one of the worst seasons I can remember such a shame how we had fantastic seasons in 2007 and 2008 with teams largely on a par and now we have something worse than the Ferrari domination of 2002.

F1 has squandered what could have been a golden era seeing Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso all fighting in roughly equal machinery. Every year seems to have seen at least two of those three in crappy cars.

I agree that it's not been a great season but in 2007 and 2008 you only really had two cars at the front: McLaren and Ferrari. The races were largely processional otherwise.

People have short memories.

Edit: what I really came in here to say is - and I can't believe it's taken me this long but - Jennie Gow is so strawberry floating annoying. She's a terrible presenter and commentator. For example, her commentary on the RoC at the moment is cringeworthy and error-strewn as strawberry float. She always puts on a ridiculous grin in her photos as well. Just look at her Twitter profile. :fp:

Alonso's missus. :datass:

I see now why he's considering taking a year out.

If Alonso takes a year out I think he is done as far as winning another title goes. It seems pretty difficult to take a year out and come back and be in championship winning form.

The Hamilton fans on Twitter are hilarious.

Eddie Jordan is so full of gooseberry fool.

BBC to end contract early ITV to show coverage next year
The BBC is to back out of its Formula 1 coverage three years early, with ITV poised to pick up free-to-air rights from next season.

Broadcast understands ITV is ready to swoop for the motorsport in a deal that will allow the commercial broadcaster to follow Lewis Hamilton’s title defence from the first race in Australia on 20 March 2016.

Like a double edged sword really, isn't it. ITV's advert-laden coverage is woeful, but at least it's still on terrestrial. Stick it exclusively on Sky Sports and it'll be another sport shedding 60% or more of its audience. Sky may do an NFL and stick it on Pick or Sky1 occasionally, but that's about it.

Good. More for them to spend on covering sports that aren't complete bollocks.
